Product Description
For fun and easy salad preparation, try the OXO GOOD GRIPS Salad Spinner. Simply press the soft, non-slip knob to start the basket spinning. Easy, one-handed operation makes this Spinner a pleasure to use, and a built-in brake stops the Salad Spinner so you can unload it. A non-slip ring keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the basket and bowl can be used separately. Top-rack dishwasher safe

Amazon.com Review
Washing and drying leafy vegetables has never been simpler or more fun than with this gadget. One hand is all you need to press the soft, cushioned knob to start the spinning; when the built-in brake is applied and the job is done, the basket and bowl can be taken apart and used separately. The knob locks down for easy storage, and the spinner is dishwasher-safe. Use this tool with lettuce, raw spinach, broad-leafed herbs, and greens--they end up clean and oh-so-dry, and the drier your leaves, the better salad dressings will adhere and the less mushy your sandwich bread will become. Puddles at the bottom of your salad bowl disappear... Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro

1 out of 5 stars poor performance   July 2, 2008
Luther G. Harrington (Longview, TX USA)
I was unable to get the salad spinner to spin with salad in the basket. It worked fine empty. I tossed it out and will start using pre-washed lettuce again.

5 out of 5 stars Great for sprouts, too   July 1, 2008
B. Godfrey (Escondido, CA)
I have grown my own sprouts in a big jar with some window screen rubber-banded over it since 1979. They are very easy to grow and incredibly nutritious (much more so than lettuce.) But getting them dried off so they won't mold in storage has always been a hassle until I bought this salad spinner. I dump my sprouts into the spinner and fill it up with water. Then I slosh the sprouts around which causes the seed hulls to float to the top where you can slosh them right on out of the bowl. Lift up the inner bowl, dump the water from the outer bowl, spin the sprouts and they are immediately ready for storage. I don't store them in the spinner, but I suppose I could.

5 out of 5 stars Great Salad Spinner!   June 22, 2008
C. Brooks (NC United States)
I have needed a solution to wet salad - this is it! I usually forget to wash the salad until right before we eat it & it always ends up wet & soggy. Now the salad gets clean & dry right before we eat it.

1 out of 5 stars broke in about 5 seconds   June 18, 2008
jj
Usually, if I say "about 5 seconds," I'm exaggerating, but not this time. It was literally after only a few seconds of use that my salad spinner broke. When I pay over $20 for a bowl, I expect it to last at least minutes. Well the bowl itself and inner colander are okay, so at least I will salvage about $5 of my money's worth. It was the lid that popped and snapped and twisted and all sorts of great things.

I love this product! It holds a lot of lettuce and does a great job drying. I store my salads in this container and it lasts several days longer . I would highly recommend this product! Well worth the cost.
