Amazon.com Review A brilliant innovation, this 2-cup measuring vessel is not round but oval. That means calibrations are printed on the cup's sides, as is conventional, as well as on a patented guide inside the cup that's angled so it can be read from above. The result is that this cup doesn't have to be held up--or bent down to--in order to determine how much liquid it contains. While Oxo guarantees satisfaction with a money-back guarantee, there's no reason to return this product. It's better than any other measuring cup. Moreover, it has a slip-resistant handle for when hands are wet, and it's made of rugged, dishwasher-safe plastic, with calibrations in both standard measurements and metric. --Fred Brack
Product Description OXO has revolutionized liquid measuring with our GOOD GRIPS Angled Measuring Cups. A patented angled surface lets you read measurement markings by looking straight down into the Cup and eliminates the need to fill, check and adjust the amount of liquid you are measuring. The handle is soft and non-slip for a firm grip. The bright measurement markings in convenient cup, ounce and milliliter denominations accommodate any recipe.

Essential for every kitchen! October 12, 2008 Captain Jack (Crozet, Virginia) I have two each of the 1/4-cup, 1-cup and 2-cup Oxo measuring cups, and one of the 4-cup ones. I actually have a ton of measuring cups, but these are the ones I grab first. It is beyond convenient to just be able to look down at the cup instead of holding it up or squatting down to see if the liquid is at the right level. They're also just the right weight, not too heavy and not flimsy. They feel good in the hand, which is important to me since I use them pretty much daily (the difference between a good kitchen tool and a great one has a lot to do with how it feels to use it, and these get a double thumbs-up for me on that aspect!). I wish they made one in a 1/2-cup size too. Heavy cream always leaves a little behind, and the taller the cup, the more you lose. I would not use these, though, for anything thicker than cream. Even with small flexible spatulas it is tough to get thick liquids out from around the inside edges. The three-piece set of these would be an ideal gift for newlyweds, kids going off to college, someone just learning to cook, or for gift exchanges, etc. Love 'em!
has become my best buddy in the kitchen September 25, 2008 H. Lee (Fullerton, CA) This measuring cup has become indispensable in my kitchen. I do a lot of baking and helps me to measure things fast. I admit there is a bit more uncertainty, but nothing that I have cooked requires such an exact measurement. Even with Pyrex, there is some deviation in reading the liquid line. I read some of the reviews that stated that this measuring cup was off, but come on, what was the standard, their pyrex cup? If you really want to be that exact you should use a graduated cylinder. For all I know, my Pyrex cup may be off!! I love this measuring cup because I can pour liquids fast and in repetition. It is light and easy to read. I have used mine for over two years now and none of the numbers or markings have come off, and this includes multitudes of times I have put it through the dishwasher. No more bending down to look at the line or lifting up the cup and having an off level.
Alton Brown talked me into it August 2, 2008 Jared Castle (Roseburg, Oregon United States) I've had the angled measuring cup for about a year now. I bought it after watching Alton Brown's "Good Eats" TV show on the Food Network. The cup works well, but it takes a bit of getting used to at first. I don't do a whole lot of measuring, so the I don't pull this out that often. The cup is lighter than I expected and doesn't have that same heft you find in Pyrex. That's a minor complaint, the cup is durable and a great value for the price available on Amazon.
First bad OXOperience July 22, 2008 Pavan Battar (Port Orange, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Worked good for a few weeks, but the measurements have flaked off after just a few uses. It's been hand washed with mild detergent, so not sure what's going on...usually Oxo has great build quality and forethought!
Sorry I bought this June 22, 2008 Clerk Kent (In the heart of Dixie) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good idea IF the product held up to use. The white strip with the measurements flaked off - what good is a measuring cup without measuring lines. The plastic is too thin and flimsy. A waste of money. If they come out with a glass one with measuring lines that are painted into the glass, I might consider it.
