Using this on glass cooktop October 8, 2008 michigan mom I didn't know if I could use this on my Kitchen Aid glass cook top, so got advise from the manufacturer and my appliance store first. It works! The cook tops are capable of canning; be sure any canner used on glass has a FLAT bottom to make full contact with the element. I've lost pressure once due to lack of water inside the canner. Processed with 800 ml of water in canner next time and worked great. My double element is having trouble holding pressure constant, though. Had to babysit the heat; once the pressure rose to 11 lbs, I switched between 3 and 4 to maintain that. I'm having fun - I've made applesauce and canned salmon so far.
Wonderful buy, saves time and energy and gets the job done. October 4, 2008 thrifty shopper (USA) I bought this canner to replace a 34-year old Model 7B. I am really pleased with the new canner. It is much faster than my old one, heats up faster, cools down faster, and does the job wonderfully well. The dial gauge is no problem, just takes a little adjustment. Be very careful adjusting electric heat because sharp increases and decreases in heat can cause liquid to boil out of jars. I received this canner from Amazon much faster than I thought I would, based on their estimate. They really try to get things out fast. All in all, this is definitely a great purchase.
