 OK...But not the panacea December 3, 2007

It does assist in the opening of the jars but it takes a lot of effort to get it its teeth into the lid in the first place. It needs some sort of ratcheting mechanism to be effective. If you can't twist the jar counter-clockwise, you would have as much of problem twisting it clockwise!

I'm an elderly lady, handicapped, and have lost the grip I had years ago. The Gripper has made life much easier for me and I no longer have to struggle to open jars. It is awesome and I highly recommend it.

My wife has arthritis and I have had a hand injury. We have tried many different openers. I can say without hesitation that this is the best and the last one we will ever need to buy.

My mom has had a similar jar opener for as long as I can remember but I could never find one like it for my own home. It was one of the three things I made her promise to leave me in her will! All of the jar openers I have bought (and ended up throwing away) operated on a different principle and were not very effective. When I saw this one, I bought it and am so pleased. It opens every jar with practically no effort. I'm getting one for my mom for Christmas because it works even better than hers.

The Kuhn Rikon 2560 Gripper Jar Opener proved itself worthy the first time I used it. With the least bit of effort on my part, it opened a jar that still had the protective plastic sleeve around the lid. I'm not the strongest person and an item such as this comes in very handy around the kitchen. I recommend it to everyone that can use an assist with those pesky, supertightly closed jars. The Amazon merchant's price was very attractive and the quick delivery had the Gripper in my hands within a very short time after I ordered it.
