Product Description KitchenAid's Gourmet Essentials line brings you high quality cookware constructed from brushed stainless steel and aluminum. The brushed 18/10 stainless steel exterior graduates to a gleaming shine at the top while an aluminum disc base fully encapsulated by stainless steel provides even heating across the bottom of the pan. Ultra comfortable cool grip handles are comprised of an 18/10 stainless steel shaft encased in soft silicone rubber. The handles are dual riveted to the pan for added security and strength. Amazon.com Review There's something clean and pure about cookware that's stainless steel inside and out. This stylishly finished version from KitchenAid's Gourmet Essentials series features a brightly polished interior that discourages food from sticking, and a handsomely brushed exterior with a shiny band along the rim. Each pan is entirely constructed of premium 18/10 stainless steel, except for the encapsulated aluminum disk in the base (aluminum makes a superior conductor of heat), and the silicone grip encasing the handle. Even the tight-fitting lids are stainless steel. Each piece is oven-safe to 400 degrees F and is dishwasher-safe. Whether you want to fry up pancakes for breakfast, warm soup for lunch, or feed chili to a crowd, this set more than accommodates your most typical cooking needs. The 1-, 2-, and 3-quart saucepans all come with lids, as does the large 8-quart stockpot. The 8- and 10-inch French skillets are nice and deep, great for poaching eggs or stir-frying veggies. Stainless steel cooks most efficiently at medium heat, and can be used to start a dish on the stovetop and finish it in the oven. An excellent value, the set is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 10-piece cookware set. The set consists of: 1-quart covered saucepan; 2-quart covered saucepan; 3-quart covered saucepan; 8-quart covered stockpot; 8-inch skillet; 10-inch skillet. 10 pieces total.

excellent cookware June 26, 2008 Fowzia Warsama (Atlanta,Ga USA)
This is an excellent cookware ,easy to clean up .
Best cookware ever June 25, 2008 J. Duncan (Attalla, AL USA) This is the best cookware I've ever owned. It's beautiful, heavy, and cooks wonderfully. Distributes heat evenly with the aluminum core. The lids fit neatly into the top of the pots creating a nice seal. The soft cool handles are well made and attached with double rivets and are oven safe. Proper use of oil prevents most food from sticking. (I still prefer non-stick for eggs.) Cleaning is simple. If there is anything stuck, just soak for a little while. Some people are confused about the use of metal utensiles on stainless steel. If you read your manual you will note that stainless cookware is not safe for metal utensiles. They cause tiny scratches making food stick more easily, plus removes the shine inside. Same is true with brillo pads, etc. Just read the instructions and you will love this set. Also, a great deal on Amazon!
Nice Cookware Set June 25, 2008 P. Schmelzenbach Pretty much as advertised: great stainless-steel cookware set. It looks nice, works wonderfully, just what we were looking for. The set provides the needed sizes for most of our everyday cooking. Before this set most of our cookware was non-stick, so we were a bit worried about that, but they seem to clean up without much effort, really not any harder than our non-stick ware. We would recommend the cookware.
You can cook with these June 9, 2008 Simulaman (The dark side of the mind) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I decided to buy these because my All-Clad pots and pans are not dishwasher safe. So, I am holding these pots to a pretty high standard. I have been using them for about a month. I was surprised at how well they distribute heat at low settings (gas stove). You can still get hot spots, but they are manageable. The handles are comfortable, but I wish they could go in the broiler. However, I question whether the handles will last 20 years like my All-Clad. All in all, these pans are a testament to how good more affordable cookware can be.
Kitchen Aid Gourmet Essensials June 5, 2008 Sandra D. Jefferson (North Carolina) I love the ease of cleaning, but, I do wish it was open stock where I could buy extras pans!
