4 out of 5 stars THANK YOU KITCHENAID!!!!!   June 5, 2008

This skillet is well worth the price. Like most other people I do not care for the rivets in the skillet, but it cost a lot less and works just as well as other brands!

5 out of 5 stars Kitchen Aid Lives up to It's Name   February 9, 2008

Way to go Kitchen Aid! This saute pan is wonderful. I have a cheaper set of stainless pots and pans, but wanted a few nice pieces for the things I use most. I purchased this pan and the Cuisinart round griddle (both 5 ply). I Cannot say enough good things about them. Even heating, tasty food with less oil, and no worrying about no-stick coating coming off in my food. Works great on many applications; my husbad even uses it to deep fry things (although I make him cover witha splatter screen because it is shallow for deep frying). Easy clean-up, and you can use pan scraters or Brillo if need be.

5 out of 5 stars I goofed   July 22, 2007

I think I screwed up with buying this fry pan. I bought it as a replacement for the non-stick aluminum omelette pan I have been using to fry hash brown potatoes.

The manufacturer of my ceramic-glass range top advised against using aluminum utensils on the unit so I shopped for one made of stainless steel. Unfortunately this uncoated pan is a disaster when using it with the hash brown potatoes. They stick no matter what I do to fix that problem.

The sticking situation is not a condemnation of the KitchenAid pan, but a limitation to the versatility of any stainless steel cooking utensil when frying high starch food. I should have known better.

The pan itself is one of the best I have ever seen and it is cheaper than the All-Clad equivalent. It is extremely well made, it is a beautiful pan and I would recommend it for frying anything except potatoes and heavily floured meats.

I had to go out and buy a stainless steel fry pan with a non-stick cooking surface. Guess what--I bought a KitchenAid.
