Nice looking, smaller cutting board. It's made of cherry and displays in a warm, reddish tone. I keep the river design-side on display; the reverse is plain with a juice collecting border. There is very little finish on the piece, maybe the regular application of a good beeswax/mineral oil would close the grain somewhat. Mine is well scored after only a few uses. If you're used to maple this may disappoint. The four stars are for design and appearance not function.
