Outback Roof Rack Systems A rugged rack system for all your outback excursions. Westin's Outback-Series Roof Racks offer a rugged cargo management system for outdoor excursions. To make ordering simple, Outback Racks are sold in kits, which include heavyduty crossbars made of extruded clear anodized aluminum, and strong support legs to fit your SUV. Load capacity rated at 250 lbs. or add an additional bar for an extra 125 lbs. Always check the manufactures recommended specifications before installing. The racks attach using the vehicle's existing O.E. rails or tracks and the crossbars are adjustable to accommodate your various cargo loads. The Outback also features an allen hex screw security system for added theft protection. Outback Racks are sold in complete kits, with mounting hardware. Accessories are sold separately. Carrying capacity is 200 lbs., which may be further limited by the vehicle's maximum cargo weight specifications. Two bar kits are standard; a kit to add a third cross bar can be purchased separately. Complete vehicle kits - one part number to order - no separate ordering of components is necessary. I really like this roof rack. It is fairly easy to install. The friction lock to hold it in the OEM rails is great. I use it on my Ford Excursion to mount my roof top luggage carrier. It is one of those 20 Sq Ft clam shells very aerodynamic. The roof rack is just high enough to allow some air to pass under it which reduces drag and that helps my fuel mpg.
