Product Description
iRobot Roomba RED Cordless Robotic Vacuum Cleaner - Wouldn't be nice to have a robot servant? It's not science fiction anymore. Roomba is the first practical robot for your home. It vacuum cleans floors all by itself roaming through your room like a pet, sucking dirt and dust all along its path. There are no cords or wires. It simply runs on a rechargeable battery. Red is the Roomba that attracts. While all Roombas work hard and eliminate dirt, it's Red that gets the stares. What's more, behind the beautiful design is a vacuuming robot that does what Roombas do: it cleans. So...to help reduce the monotony of cleaning your floors, get a Roomba. It goes where no vacuum has gone before.

5 out of 5 stars Great appliance   October 18, 2008
Joan R. Hebert (Sulphur, LA)
I just love my Robot. I am 76 yrs old and it hurts my back to use a regular vacuum cleaner. The robot just goes and does the business without my having to put stress on my back. It is a wonderful tool. It cleans so well that you would not believe what it picks up that the vacuum cleaner did not. My husband and I could not be more pleased. We named it "Robot lizzie".

3 out of 5 stars A bit disappointed   October 16, 2008
Constance Herold (Lexington, KY)
This model of Roomba does an excellent job of cleaning the floors. However, it is not powerful enough for my house. Although I do not have a big house (1600 sq. ft.) the roomba runs out of power before completing the cleaning of my larger rooms. I have to divide these rooms into 2 seperate areas but then it takes hours for the battery to charge. Not very practical. I will be returning this model and exchanging for a more powerful model.

4 out of 5 stars Decent price, decent product   October 15, 2008

The Roomba is pretty good, especially for its price! It is great for places that are hard to reach with a regular vacuum, especially under the bed. I was pleasantly surprised how much stuff it picks up. One complaint I have is that it doesn't last long before it needs charging again. I thought it was supposed to be able to clean for about 2 hours and cover 2 rooms but mine gets tired after about 1/2 hour. I would probably think about upgrading to a newer model soon but this is a good start and it supplements a regular vacuum cleaner nicely.

5 out of 5 stars Great Vacuum   October 12, 2008
Mina Sharma (San Francisco, CA)
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first used the vacuum but I'm happy to say that it's one of the best purchases I've made. I've had it for about a month now and have not had to use my regular vacuum. I turn it on and let it clean, and it does clean. At the end of the secession, you see how much dust it has collected. It's easy to use, you just push a button. The battery life isn't very long, it may last 45 minutes, which is plenty to clean 1-2 rooms but it does take a while to charge fully again--You can't expect to clean the whole house in 1 charge. It does well on both carpet and tiles, and is able to move easily from one area to another.

I would honestly recommend this product to anyone, I wish I had bought this sooner.

4 out of 5 stars Don't be skeptical   August 20, 2008
M. Kenning (Springfield, MO United States)
This is a really great product. The only reason I hadn't bought one before was the price point. After two weeks of twice a day use, I wish I'd have bought one sooner.

We have a multi-level house with tile, carpet, and wood floors. We also have two black labs that come inside at least weekly and three kids, so our floors need constant cleaning. This vacuum was the best investment. We can set it to clean one level while doing laundry or dishes and in thirty minutes, the floors are clean. After a couple of hours on the charger, the light is green and we can vacuum another level. It's been a HUGE time saver.

Pros: It really does what it advertises -- cleans automatically with no human interference. Relatively quiet (much quieter than a regular vacuum) especially on carpets. Battery runs for about 45 to 60 minutes, so it can clean two average sized rooms (about 900 sf) on a single charge. Goes in between chair legs, and under end tables where a stand up vacuum can't. Sturdy! Fell down our stairs twice without a dent or ding.

Cons: As with all vacuums, you need to clean up loose items, toys, shoes, etc. before you clean. With the Roomba, you have to watch out for things that you can avoid with a manual vacuum that the Roomba won't (i.e. cords, tassels, etc.) It tries to avoid stairs, but noses over a little and occasionally, it will fall off if it can't get good enough traction to back away. We use the virtual wall to keep it away from the stairs.
