Amazon.com Review Is your workroom cluttered? Is it time to re-organize that garage? Rubbermaid's rubber shelves are perfect for any room where you need heavy-duty storage. Assembly is easy, swift, and no tools are necessary. Although a little on the bulky side, these sturdy shelves seem even more stable than similar metal units. Plus, there are no worries about rust, and no sharp edges to cut yourself on. The shelves are capable of holding up to 180 pounds each, yet won't bow under the heavy weight. The convenient modular design also allows for units to be joined with other Rubbermaid shelving - a great feature if your project requires multiple shelving units. Whether you're organizing your workroom or cleaning up your garage, we think the Rubbermaid 7086RNMICHR 5-Shelf Unit is a terrific choice for your heavy-duty utility shelving needs. -- Michael Cleveland

Easy to use shelving unit October 5, 2008 Maryann Hicks (DC area) I actually put this shelf in my library room, and it really doesn't look bad. I needed something to put my pretty picture-filled boxes and photo albums on, but I didn't want to ask my husband or kids for help in building anything. I had no trouble at all in putting this one together, and I didn't even need any tools.
The 5 shelf Rubber Maid shelf is the best!! August 24, 2008 Thomas D. Roberts (Denver, CO USA) I already had a Rubbermaid 5 shelf, and wanted another like it. I searched all over and found it here. It is an excellent, easy to assemble, non rustable, and strong shelf unit. Great for storing anything.
Very Sturdy, Easy to Assemble August 12, 2008 Andrea Wasik (Boston) I bought 2 of these after moving into a new place. I was able to put them both together quickly and they are super strong! I would suggest using a rubber mallet to make sure the shelves seat all the way down on the supports.
Garage Storage Shelf July 19, 2008 Calvin Hulstein 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit works well for me. I did attach it to the wall to stabilize it. Since I have a foundation ledge around the garage, The back of the shelf sits on the ledge. I found that a piece of 1 1/2 plastic pipe cut to length will fit in the socket for the shelf supports and that solved the problem of uneven heights.
900 Pounds Goes a Long Way! July 3, 2008 R. Thomasson (Kansas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is absolutely amazing how much stuff these shelves will hold. I have bought three of them so far from Amazon and may get more. I put one set in the utility room to use as a pantry. I have it completely full of canned goods, large bottles of juice, pop, dry goods, etc. It sets flat and takes the weight without complaint. I put the two other sets in the spare bedroom for general storage, which organized a-lot of stuff that had been lying around. A mallet comes in handy when putting them together (or the heel of a leather shoe). Just make sure you smack the shelves hard enough to completely seat them on the uprights (use your finger to feel inside the hole on top of the shelf to see if the upright is flush against the rim). This is a great product!
