5 out of 5 stars Breathe easier and feel better   October 10, 2008
Paul F. Shine
I bought this 6 months ago and run it 24/7 and the amount of dust and dirt I clean out of the filter ever 2 months is amazing. When I bought this I had a cough when I would lay down to go to bed and would cough through the night and wake up my girlfriend. After 1 month of running this air purifier I haven't coughed since. I also have more energy when I'm at home and don't feel as lethargic or feel the need to open windows to get fresh air into the room. If this cost 300 dollars I would still recommend it to everyone I know. Great product, operates very quietly and easy to clean. If I could give it more stars I would.

2 out of 5 stars Okay until it broke after 14 months   October 10, 2008

It was decent, not great. Got a lot of stuff out of the air, but didn't get rid of all the smell. It wasn't too loud but it died after 14 months. Just turned "on" but the fan wasn't running.

5 out of 5 stars does what it's supposed to   July 27, 2008

The air in my new apartment was terrible when I moved in. I'd walk in the door and start sneezing and my nose would start running. Whatever it was in the air was driving me crazy. I finally caved and after researching some air filters and finally settled on this one - not too expensive, and large enough for my living/dining/kitchen apartment-layout.
The change wasn't by any means instantaneous, but i was patient and gave it two weeks. I forgot it was there (very quiet) and after a while I realized I wasn't sneezing like mad anymore!
I love it. Now I've been introduced to the world of air purifiers, I will never go back.

5 out of 5 stars good buy   July 4, 2008

3 big dogs live in the furnished basement when I am at work...imagine that smell. not only it has a permanent filter, it actually works very well [isn't it the whole point of buying one?]. the doggie smell is gone and the air is fresh. job well done.

4 out of 5 stars I'm talkin' dust people!   June 4, 2008

I bought an excellent slim and quiet air filter for my small home. It worked great but was soon overwhelmed by the amount of dust in the air. I live in Southern California on a dusty breezy property and I often keep the windows open. So I soon became overwhelmed by paying $50 for a "three year" filter that lasts me about 6 months.

This particular model has a nice oscillation function and that funny ionic smell one reviewer complained about left after the first day. I would give it a full five stars if it didn't make considerably more noise than my quiet quiet one- which kills this model on the dbs. However, the functionality of washable filters for my situation is king. The air is noticeable much cleaner and quiet mode is quiet enough for me.

Dork note: my cat was weirded out by the oscillation which was quite funny for several days.
