Great little detergent September 2, 2008 hcfischer1 I do like this detergent and I use it for most of our clothing items. However, it has optical brighteners that pose a problem for our cloth diapers. On the cloth diapers we are using a detergent by a little company named "Country Save" (also available on amazon.com) HE powdered detergent. Eventually we will probably switch all of our clothing to Country Save because of the cost savings and convenience of using just one detergent.
Nice free and clear no dye at all January 16, 2008 C. Oliver (TheBay, CA USA) I have never found what it is in some laundry detergents that causes me to bust out in hives. I got one case of this local and found it on Amazon and garbed another here. Great stuff, I use way less than the cap level and everything still comes out nice and clean. The baby version of this product seems to be about the same thing to be. Works just as good. hypoallergenic
Great stuff but they need a new cap design! December 11, 2007 M. C. Stith (Madbury, NH) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought a case of this about 9 months ago....and we do about 2 loads a week on average and we do have an HE machine. We have finished one bottle and maybe an eighth of another bottle. Whats crazy is we ordered one case...and when it arrived it was leaking everywhere....and about 1 bottle had lost quite a bit of the detergent and 4 out of the 6 were leaking...so we called amazon(thinking they were broken originally and it was a big mess) and they actually sent us another case to replace it(and keep the other). It came the same way...just not as big a mess with somewhat less detergent inside the box....so we got basically got 11 1/2 bottles for the cost of 6...not our intention believe me. We are going to be doing laundry for probably 6 years with what we got. It is a great product with a terribly messy/leaky cap. You have to get ALL the detergent out of the lid when you screw it back on or it creates some sort of weird detergent vacuum which leaks down the handle and onto whatever surface the bottle is on. Other than this....it is a great product that is environmentally friendly, cleans extremely well, smells good and is actually relatively inexpensive through Amazon. Just be prepared to set a towel under the bottle and throw it in with the laundry.....our solution since we dont want to sit and wipe out every little bit out of the cap before capping. I absolutely recommend it.
Bottle is awkward to handle and messy February 22, 2007 Kristina Thompson (Omaha, NE) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I like the detergent itself--it cleans clothes well and leaves no cloying odors. The only complaint I have is with the bottle design. 1. I have woman's average-sized hands. I would like to grip the bottle by the thinner dimension while pouring because it's more comfortable. The spout however is midway on the wider face, which means I have to grip it by its widest dimension, which is a bit uncomfortable. If I were elderly or had smaller hands, this would be even more uncomfortable. 2. For some reason, the cap design is such that some detergent always manages to be oozing out of the cap, sticking to your hands unless you're extremely careful about where you grip the bottle. It's a nuisance, and I'm not even a neat freak. I switched to HE detergent because I wanted the compact size for a less-cluttered laundry room, and oozing sticky detergent doesn't help. I like the product and love the compact size, but unless the bottle is redesigned I'm going to try a different scent-free HE detergent when this one runs out.
Method laundry detergent January 10, 2007 Lady of the Lake (Poconos, PA) I recently bought a washing machine that requires the high efficiecy laundry detergents. I have a lot of difficulty with detergents that have dyes and perfumes added and was disappointed that the local stores had no fragrence/dye free HE products. On line I found the Method brand in fragrence/dye free and decided to try it. I love it. I use a lot less detergent and my clothes come out beautiful.
