Product Description This Touchless Trashcan NX model specially designed for 13 gallon tall kitchen size trash bag. As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid it closes automatically. At top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch on the back of the trash can. This 2nd generation automatic trash can improves sensor sensitivity to prevent accidental opening, and a mechanically superior lid opening mechanism for longer lasting, more durable operation. Fits any regular 13 gallon trash bag. Comes with bag retainer ring to secure and hide the trash bag inside the trash can. Optional AC power adaptor is available. The Benefits:This 100% touch-free trash can creates a germ free, odor free, automated environment. what's the point of a trash can that spills your trash on the floor? September 24, 2008 Rekrab Mailliw (New England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use pretty high quality bags (those forceflex ones) and just about one in 10 or so bags will rip as I'm pulling them out of the can. The can is rolled in at the top, so the top of the can is narrower than the body. If you have anything at the bottom of your trash bag, it will catch on the metal lip, and then if you pull too hard your bag will split open and spill everything onto your kitchen floor! Their customer service told me that I shouldn't fill it up so full - what a terrible suggestion! I'm going to see if I can return this thing. The previous model worked well for me for a year or so and then the plastic gear that opens the lid broke so I bought this newer version. In summary I hate this trash can and I feel like an idiot for paying so much to buy it!
Ring that Holds Trash Bag is flimsy September 20, 2008 tocampo (PA) This is could be a nice product if the ring that holds the trash bag is sturdy. Ring is actually an open circle metal that expands. It really doesn't hold the trash bag well. A "ring" of thin metal wire (as thin as the wire on one's cellphone charger). I think the "ring" placed on one's finger is even thicker! Problem: 1st: Bag doesn't have enough space to enclose the ring. 2nd: Ring slips out from the space provided for the ring inside the can. If bottom of trash is already heavy or one pushes trash hard, example, trying to fit the trash inside the can or pushing stuff inside for the extra space, it falls off so when the time for you to pull the trash bag out for replacement a lot of your trash ends up not inside the bag itself. Really messy! You also end up cleaning the inside of the can for any mess or residue that came in contact with the can. Not a pleasant job to do and a pleasant sight to see. Added work. They should have placed a thick ring, like the square iTouchless can or NZ's trash cans. This may be made of plastic but at least the bag is secured and doesn't fall off.
automatic lid open trashcan September 14, 2008 Bruce M. Roberts (Millville, NJ) This is a great product, this trashcan operates on 4 d cell batteries or an optional adapter
not so great July 1, 2008 Iyawo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It didn't work when i inserted the batteries and it was not as big as i thought it would be. I think i'll stick to the simply human products. They've worked well for me.
