5 out of 5 stars Good filter if it's the one you need   October 28, 2008

Hoover, and these website descriptions, don't make it easy to get a filter. For the Wind Tunnel Self Propelled vacuum (the one with a bag inside) there are three items called "filters":

The first, is the "filter bag" ... you need the "Y" bag.

The second filter is called the "secondary" filter. You'll find this one inside the main compartment, just below the paper filter bag. This filter protects the motor. The item for sale here is one of these "secondary filters" (don't be fooled by the picture which shows it as tall and thin (like the "final filter"). The actual "secondary" filter is about half the size of the "final filter" made of completely different materials.

Finally, there's what they call the "final filter". That's a long white, pleated filter, found on the side of the vacuum, behind a tall door with many small vents in it. You pull this one out with your fingers (it may stick a bit, but just pull on both sides of the white filter and it will come out.)

So, just be sure which of the three filters you need. If you need a "secondary filter", then you should be happy with this product.
