Braun's AromaDeluxe is a no-nonsense, easy-to-use coffeemaker for those who still prefer a basic cup of coffee. The coffeemaker brews up to 10 cups using a fast brewing method that thoroughly extracts the rich flavor and aroma from your ground coffee. The integrated Brita water filter also contributes to better-tasting coffee by screening out chlorine and other harsh minerals, plus it prevents calcification within the water tank. A marker on the top of the water tank helps you keep track of when the water filter needs to be changed. Other handy extras on the AromaDeluxe include a filter release button, which swings the detachable filter basket open for filling or easy cleaning, and a pause-and-serve feature, which stops the brewing while you pour a cup of coffee midway through a cycle. I ordered this product on 8-06-08. I can't really rate the quality of this item because I will not recieve it until 8-18-08. Do not buy from this seller. They can't even ship things on time. The package finally shipped on 8-13-08 and should arrive three days after the guarantied delivery date of 8-15-08.

Easy to Use; Makes Great Coffee August 5, 2008

This is the most basic and simple coffee maker I have ever used. There is no timer to tell you it is done making coffee, but you really don't need it. As described by the manufacturer, it makes about one cup per minute, so it makes a couple of cups very quickly. It does not come with a gold-tone filter, which is probably for the best. I used it with a gold-tone filter I had, but it left a lot of residue in the cup (cosmetic, because it didn't affect the coffee's flavor). So, I use unbleached paper filters, which leave no residue (pretty cup of coffee!). It made really delicious coffee the very first time I used it, and it continues to deliver wonderful-tasting, no hassle coffee weeks later. I really love this little coffee maker and recommend it highly.

We were looking to replace our 15-year old tried-and-true Braun, but were wary of Consumer Reports' reviews since we figured they were basing their opinion on currently-made coffee makers, and the bells and whistles with which they come.
This is a good looking and lightweight (important for us as we put ours away after each use) coffee maker that brews up in just a couple of minutes. We use shade-grown organic beans we grind just before each pot and find this to make a nice dark brew. Since we never leave our coffee in the maker for long - we decant into a caterer's pump dispenser we got at a bulk food store - I can't say what it tastes like sitting on the burner for long.
Yes, this does not have a bunch of buttons for timers and all, which is what we look for in appliances since they tend to be the first thing that causes appliances no longer to work. If you prepare the coffee maker the night before, all you have to do when you get up in the a.m. is plug it in and go take a shower first.
Since it's a Braun, we're looking forward to it taking us well into our retirement years (our first one brought us through our kids' childhood years)!

I had to buy this particular coffee maker because my old Braun finally broke down. Unfortunately they no longer make that model anymore, so I went with this one. I didn't want any frills, just a good cup of coffee and this definitely delivers. I've tried other more expensive brand coffee makers, with the buttons and really cool looks, but they don't even compare to a Braun.
