Low cost maintenace, HIGH heat September 21, 2008 S. Loosemore (Portage, IN United States) I bought this for my mother(82) last fall for use while she watches television. She loves the radiant heat. It has proved to be a low cost maintenance heater yet gives out a great deal of heat. She starts on high but can only take the heat for a short time, reduces to low for an hour or so. She can have much more comfortable evenings and I don't have to worry about her trying to save money on her utility bills. One thing you should know. My mother has carpeting all through her home. While the heater is really safe, it is VERY sensitive to the unevenness of the carpeting. She had trouble turning it on and sometimes it wouldn't stay on. I simply bought her a heavy slate tile from the tile store($4.00) a bit larger than the base of the heater and problem is solved. It looks nice too! I'm buying a smaller one for my use in the bathroom. I just LOVE hot baths in really hot rooms!
Soleus Air Reflective Heater MS-10R April 7, 2008 J. Mack (Nebraska) The Soleus Air reflective heater is a good product overall. It does a very good job compared to heaters of higher wattage that cost more to operate. I like being able to select between it's two heat settings, high and low, and the adjustable timer which is a real energy saver and safety feature. The oscillation feature enables the Soleus Air MS-10R to heat a larger area which is nice also. Its great for daytime use or wherever you don't mind a little extra light but the heating element gives off too much light for sleeping areas. Otherwise, I am well satisfied with this product.
Poor performance and quality February 24, 2008 jl (Los Gatos, CA USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
A big disappointment. Poorly made and didn't perform well. It is only effective for a small office or cubicle. The reflective light is so bright that you can't use it while watching TV.

way better bang for the buck than costco's floor parabolic dish heater. it heats up faster. it does not make clicking noises to regulate heat - it only has a high (800W) and low (400W) setting. it is only ~ 3-4ft high. but it can be tilted up or down. it throws out light equivalent to a 60wat t bulb w/a orange tint. but it doesn't bother me - kinda like a fireplace :) the timer feature is nice ( so you can fall asleep w/o worrying about turning off the heater. remote is real sensitive - just stick your hand out the cover to use.
Nice product, BAD (nonexisting) service /comapny February 16, 2008 Ron Dayan (Riverdale, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this heater for its features: good heat for low energy use, remote, safety features. Worked well for two years and allows me to keep temperature lower around the house (that has no zoned-heat) while I work in my home-office. HOWEVER, when it stopped working all of the sudden after about 27 months, I could not get any response from the manufacturer. The heater stopped working without visible cause. It still had the feedback sound and indicator lights responding as normal but both the lamp AND the swing functions do not work - which seems to suggest that the problem was not the lamp. While the product is relatively inexpensive and you may consider it to be a reasonable price for a product that lasts only two years, my sensibilities as a consumer and environmentalist are offended by the fact that there was no way to get ANY response from tech support. Tried, the phone number (not even taking messages), web support form (error messages), and email - to no avail! It was a major shame to finally dispose of the whole thing. I have to admit that I ended up buying an identical replacement, but I have no guarantee that it will not stop working earlier than two years, even during the warranty period. And the inability to even consider repair versus replacement is in my opinion a sign of a company that is not environmentally responsible.
