Do not buy, never great, broke after two years September 6, 2008 Wayne (Carmel, IN USA) Bought this dehumidifer in 5/06 after reading reviews and tired of replacing the metal-box units sold at Wal-Mart and hhGregg. Was impressed at how quiet it ran and ease of connecting hose output to sump. But never dried the basement as well as prior units. Sometime in summer 2008 (not sure when) it stopped collecting water (didn't realize it wasn't working because the fan and compressor seemed to be running). Owner's manual says to check input and output ports for blockage, but the plastic case is held together by four non-standard screws, so I can't get the thing apart to clean it. Soleus web site offers support only for those in warranty (1 year), I sent them an email but do not expect results.
KT September 4, 2008 Y. TONG (NY, NY USA) Very quite product compare to Haier and Goldstar De-humidifier from Walmart. The drawback is that it doesn't come with the drain hose. You have to get it at Home Depot / Plumbing store.
QUIET! Dehumidifier September 3, 2008 Dave Lass (Madison, WI) This unit does a great job and is SO-O-O-O quiet compared to other units I have purchased. The only thing that would be nice would be a readout showing the current humidity. It cannot be set to a number. Otherwise seems to be a great little unit.
Very pleased. September 1, 2008 Janet L. Laurin (Los Angeles, CA) We purchased this item almost three years ago. It still runs great: very quiet and keeps the humidity out of the room. This unit solved a long-running mold/mildew problem.
No shuttoff August 31, 2008 Karen Kirsten (MA) This is a super quiet machine and works well, but there are a few things that bug me: -Removing the water bucket is awkward. It doesn't slide out easily and you have to jiggle it around to get it to come out, which sometimes means spilling water if it's full -There is no shut off when the machine has reached set humidity, you have to turn it off manually and measure humidity with your own humidity gauge. If you plan on piping the water out, this could be an issue, because it will never shut off.
