Product Description The OXO Steel Garlic Press combines durability, elegance and practical cleaning. It has a large-capacity garlic chamber to accommodate several cloves. The built-in plastic cleaner efficiently removes garlic residue. Soft, non-slip grips provide cushioning when pressing garlic. Durable zinc and stainless steel construction ensure a lifetime of use.
Amazon.com Review Pick up this garlic press and you'll instantly recognize its superior qualityit's heavy and solid, yet beautifully balanced. An elegant combination of zinc and stainless steel with black cushioning insets on the handles add up to a work of art. Several cloves of garlic can be pressed at once; then, swing the handle around on the smooth-as-butter hinge and forty durable plastic teeth push out the pulpy residue. While dishwasher-safe, the press can also be quickly hand-cleaned with a soapy brush. You'll never want another garlic crusher after using this one. --Ann Bieri

It broke? October 29, 2008 Schwa (OH) While it lasted, it made garlic paste out of garlic, but it snapped in half? Also not super easy to clean or anything.
nice one October 6, 2008 John J. O'Connor (Texas) My real old one's handle broke. this one is very comfortable and does a great job.
How did I live without you? September 15, 2008 E. Canevari (Northern Calif.) This is a MUST have kitchen tool for any garlic lover. I am an avid cooker, and looove garlic, this is an absolute lifesaver. If you cook with garlic more than once a month, go buy one! GO!
Excellent Garlic Press August 29, 2008 Shell (Bahamas) At last I seem to have found a garlic press that not only functions extremely well, but one that will not fall apart after repeated usage. It is of very heavy-duty construction and feels most solid in the hand.
Looks great, works fine. August 18, 2008 M. Poisot (Houston, TX) This thing definitely has great heft - it feels like it will last forever. It looks beautiful. The rubberized grip feels comfortable. It won't break in the dishwasher. And yes, it will process garlic. So why only 4 stars? I find the handles to be TOO SHORT. Another 1/2 inch would have made a world of difference to increase the torque you can generate. The hopper is a bit small, holding only 2 cloves of garlic at a time. I don't understand people who complain about cleanup. It takes me about 5 seconds to get the chunks out before tossing into the dishwasher. One or two rams of the rubber device dislodges the chunks. A 2 second rinse under the faucet and its 95% clean, and the dishwasher handles the rest. Since I'm a bit of a perfectionist I am upgrading the the very, very highly rated Kuhn Rikon Epicurean Garlic Press. Yes, its $40. No, you don't really need. I just want it.
