Product Description The plants and butterflies that make up Botanic Garden are from the exquisitely hand colored illustrations in the finest natural history books of the early 19th Century. Reproduced with true craftsmanship, these flowers have the same brilliance and life they had when first painted over 150 years ago. These hand-painted glass bowls will add new excitement to your collection.
Amazon.com Review Inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations, artist Susan Williams-Ellis has created a truly unique mix-and-match collection for Portmeirion. Designed in 1972, Botanic Garden features more than 30 different floral and butterfly designs, with new designs joining the collection on a regular basis. Each scene has been painstakingly reproduced by hand with every detail beautifully rendered. Butterflies flutter about, flowers bend in the breeze, and a distinctive leaf border can be found on each item in the collection. Measuring 5-1/2 inches in diameter, this set of four glass bowls can be used to serve a side salad or display an assortment of appetizers or desserts. Crafted from hand painted glassware each bowl is decorated with clusters of flowers, butterflies, and the signature leaf pattern encircling the upper portion of each bowl. The Botanic Garden collection incorporates a full line of coordinating table settings, bakeware, serving items, and giftware. Handwashing is recommended to protect the hand painted decoration. --Lea Werbel
