Aptly named for the Italian Renaissance sculptor and goldsmith, Benvenuto Cellini, the Villeroy & Boch white-on-white dinnerware features a sculpted bas-relief border of exceptional detail. The Italianate border embellishes each of these six rimmed soup plates without overwhelming their simple grace and calm formality. Each plate measures 9-1/2 inches in diameter and holds one cup of liquid, just enough seafood bisque or fresh pea soup to whet but not dampen the appetite. Villeroy & Boch produces some of the finest tableware in the world. Made in Germany of vitrified porcelain, the Cellini bowls feel elegantly thin but are durable enough for worry-free, everyday use. The bowls can safely heat food in the microwave, serve hot soup or cold salads, and go into the dishwasher for easy clean-up.
