Performed well for a while, then went downhill October 21, 2008 Ed (NJ) I paid way less at retail than what amazon is charging for this fan, which is not the norm for most of what amazon sells. I bought it originally about 3.5 years ago to keep me cool at my desk, since I work around numerous computers that heat the place up. At that time, I only ever had it on the lowest setting, but as soon as i began using it regularly at home in our bedroom on anything higher than the lowest speed, the fan began a downward spiral. A rattling noise developed for the past 6 months, and finally the fan completely disintegrated and now sounds more like a lawnmower. At the price I paid, it was worth it for the 3.5 years of use, but this thirty dollar price tag here is way more than it's worth in my opinion. I just threw it in the trash after concluding that it wasn't fixable, or worth my time to even try to fix.
Fan that does its job September 3, 2008 A. Bush (Newberg, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this fan from a friend and have used it ever since to either keep air moving at my desk, or to cool my computer. It has worked fine and continues to blow a steady stream of air. The oscillation feature works as well, albeit with a little "squeak" on each pass (probably something that could be fixed with a little WD-40), but since I find oscillation on a tiny desk fan to be pointless, I really don't care.
Very functional August 1, 2008 J. Campbell (Seattle, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great compact fan that I've used many times over. You can set the top part to an opposite angle of the bottom part and maximize the fan area once it's oscillating. Or set them together to maximize the volume of air. All the options (angle of fan, oscillation, speed) are able to be used at the same time. It has three speeds and even at the highest one it's still pretty quiet. Used it many times during the baby's nap. When I found this fan, I was looking for one of those ugly clip on fans - I'm so glad I found this first! Check it over though - I picked the first one up at a store and because of it's minimal packing the plastic casing was broken. It ended up being cheaper on Amazon anyway, and came through shipping unscathed.
2 for 2 May 20, 2008 K. Pahl (AnyTown USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My wife purchased this fan to use while we sleep at night. After about 3 years of running more or less every night it is still running great. There are no crazy noises; just the nice hum of the motor. And it circulates air very well for the size. A co-worker has this same fan on her desk and it is just as good, no unwanted sounds, and cools everyone off. This is a great fan for the price to use on any kind of table top or desk.
Lasko desk top fan April 12, 2008 anya (Medford,Oregon) It's perfect for my stuffy office at work. I didn't want a wind tunnel just something to circulate some air and it does that well.
