A darling way to serve autumn's bounty of apples, this 10-inch-diameter pie pan is shaped like an apple and has high 2-1/2-inch sides to bake a deep-dish apple pie, an apple brown betty, or four baked apples. Made of high-quality stoneware, this dish is just as attractive for serving as it is durable for baking. The thick stoneware bottom and sides bake food evenly without scorching it and provide excellent heat retention to keep entrees or desserts warm at the table. The nonporous glaze won't retain food odors and is strong enough to hold up to metal utensils so you can cut helpings and serve them right from the pan. A ceramic stem and leaf jut out of the top of the pan and provide a useful handle for pulling the plate from the oven. As with all of Chantal's high-quality ceramic bakeware, this pie dish can go from freezer to oven, broiler, or microwave without cracking or crazing. This dish is also dishwasher-safe and its shiny glaze won't fade even after numerous washings. I purchased this dish because I am "outing with the old and in with the new". The dish has a beautiful ceramic finish and color and glazing is superb. I use it for apple deserts and have taken it out with a delicious cheese dip accompanied by sliced apples. I received many compliments on the presentation and questions as to where I purchased. It is so versatile. It goes from oven to table. The dish is microwaveable and you can store in freezer. I would highly reccomend this wonderful addition to you kitchen to anyone.

I got this for my aunt-in-law who is an apple-themed collector. I first washed it and made an apple pie in it to give to her... the plate is more the 10" size than regular 9", so my crust didn't quite cover, but that was my fault. I liked how it turned a deep wine red when hot, and as the pie cooled it went back to it's beautiful cherry red color.
I collect hearts and have the heart shaped one but I use it for a fruit bowl. So pretty :)
