Noritake's emphatically formal Crestwood Platinum dinnerware creates a beautiful table year-round with classic materials and an ornate design. The pattern starts with a base of translucent white porcelain that is delicate in shape but durable enough for confident use. A broad band of platinum borders each piece. This accent features a softly frosted background etched with a gleaming pattern of tiny geometric borders and flowing, interwoven flourishes. Solid bands frame the design and two interior bands contribute an added touch of refinement. With 20 pieces in all, the set includes four place settings, each with a 10-1/2-inch dinner plate, an 8-1/4-inch salad/dessert plate, a 6-1/2-inch bread and butter plate, a 6-inch saucer, and a footed teacup. The teacup is especially lovely, with platinum accents on the foot, body, rim, and handle sides. All pieces are safe in the dishwasher. Sometimes you are obviously taking a chance when you buy this kind of item online without seeing it in person first. Bought another set previously that I had to send back because it just didn't look as nice in person. They came and picked it up because the top plates were broken and it was too heavy to take to the post office. But this set! Absolutely exquisite. Every dish perfectly made, not a single problem. The platinum was beautiful. I use these dishes every day, very hardy set as long as you just use common sense and you're careful. Washes easily. Looks stunning whether you're doing a casual table or formal. Very Satisfied!!!
