There's plenty of room for dips and chips (or veggies) in this fun serving set. The bowl and plate, from Pfaltzgraff's "Napoli" line, are separate to make cleaning and storing easy. Of course, in our snack happy life, this will get used a lot!
About Pfaltzgraff: One of the oldest pottery makers in the United States, The Pfaltzgraff Co. was founded in York, Pennsylvania in the year 1811. This once modest-size shop (where salt-glazed stoneware was crafted by hand and sold to local merchants and townspeople) has grown and expanded with hundreds of dinnerware patterns (from traditional to contemporary) gracing the tables of homes all across America. Their new manufacturing plant (located just west of York in Thomasville, PA) hosts tours almost daily. With a deep bowl and generous round dish, this two-piece set in the Napoli pattern can easily serve up a party-size helping of veggies and dip or supply an all-day picnic with chips and salsa. Whimsical floral renderings and an elegant vine decorate the interior of the 14-inch dish, while a soft brushstroke motif adorns its exterior. The 5-1/4-inch bowl mimics the dish with another vine and subtle, sunset-colored brushstrokes. Scalloped edges and deep rose trim add the final touches to achieve a casually elegant effect. Because the bowl and dish are not attached, cleaning and storage are easy, and both pieces are safe in the oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. I love the Napoli line and was pleased to see how large this chip bowl is. I think it will hold a large bag of chips... not many do! I also love the fact that the dip bowl is separate which makes this item very functional. Definitely a great purchase.

I am very pleased with this item. The picture does not do it justice. The handpainted details are stunning. The items is sturdy and well made. It's almost too pretty to cover up with food! Purchase one and see for yourself! I am hooked on the entire Napoli line now!!

If this item could get 6 stars I would give them. The platter is very large and has so many more uses than just chip and dip. The bowl, since is comes separately is so useful as an extra condiment bowl. Love this set.
