4 out of 5 stars Does the job   August 30, 2008
California Dreamer (Edmonds, WA)
We bought this coffee maker after our old electric one died and two other ones (Farberware and Melitta 4-cup coffee makers) didn't work out. We've only used it a few times, but so far it's doing a good job. Because of previous reviewers' comments about the timer, we decided not to even set/program the clock since turning on the coffee maker in the morning isn't a problem for us. The only complaint we have so far about this Mr. Coffee is that we haven't been able to find a permanent basket-style filter for it, so we're just using regular ones (the Melitta basket-style filters work perfectly, so don't feel like you have to buy Mr. Coffee brand filters). Other than that, though, we are satisfied with this coffee maker and will keep it unless something goes wrong.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't ask for more   August 8, 2008

I usually only have time for one or two cups of coffee before heading off to work in the morning, where I continue to drink it by the gallon. Compact, stylish, and functionality get this little coffee maker a 5/5 rating.

No leaks, no mess. Everything you need in a small and affordable coffee maker.

3 out of 5 stars Two design issues   August 7, 2008

Okay, well it brews a decent cup of coffee, and it's fast enough. The carafe and hinged lid are about the worst design I've seen. You can't pour out the last half cup of coffee without spilling it. The programmable feature is nice, but there is no locking mechanism on the clock's buttons, so with the slightest bump (or wipe with a cleaning cloth) you will accidentally change the time. Of course the time only adjusts in one direction so when you do accidentally change the time by one hour, you then have to hold the button as it runs through the remaining 23 hours to get back to the right time. Not very well thought out.

5 out of 5 stars MY MAIN MACHINE!   July 31, 2008

I CALL THIS MY MAIN MACHINCE BECAUSE IT PERFORMS PERFECTLY TIME AFTER TIME AND GETS ME OFF TO A GREAT START EVERY DAY. MEASURE YOUR COFFEE, POUR THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF YOUR WATER ( COLD ) AND IN MINUTES YOU HAVE GREAT TASTING COFFEE EVERY TIME. SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT NOT REMEMBERING TO MOVE THE SHOWER HEAD OVER THE COFFEE BASKET. IF YOU CAN'T REMEMBER SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS THAT, THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK INTO BUYING GINKO BILOBA AT YOUR FAVORITE VITAMIN STORE. THIS MACHINE IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR. PEOPLE GIVING IT NEGATIVE RATINGS ARE PEOPLE WHO FIND FAULT IN EVERY ASPECT OF THEIR LIVES, THEY ARE JUST UNHAPPY SOULS WANDERING AIMLESSLY THROUGH THIS BEAUTIFUL WORLD OF OURS LOOKING FOR THINGS TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. THER'RE PROBABLY LIBERAL... WHICH IS A MENTAL DESEASE.

1 out of 5 stars pure garbage through and through   July 29, 2008

I bought this coffee maker to replace an older version of the same model that finally died after many years. This thing is a cheap piece of junk. From the pot that is shaped to spill as it pours to the fill reservior that splashes into the coffee basket, the poor design of this thing is so multi-faceted it seems it must have been deliberate.
