2 out of 5 stars Durability....NOT ! !   September 4, 2008

Bought my first Lasko Tower Fan a few years ago and really liked it.......so much that I bought a few more since we have use for them. Yesterday however, I noticed that the "oscellation" feature stopped working. Called LASKO'S customer service looking for an authorized service center just to find out how much it would cost to repair and to see if it would be cost effective to repair. The customer service (no service??)lady told me that there were "no repairable parts" offered to repair the oscellation feature nor are there any authorized service centers available for this fan...........in other words it should be considered a DISPOSABLE fan after a year (my opinion). Remember when fan's used to last longer than a year?? Aside from the fact that the fan is quiet and takes up little space.......DURABILY LEAVES ALOT TO BE DESIRED ! ! !

1 out of 5 stars Rattles like a banshee   June 20, 2008

I bought 3 of these. Two of the three started ratting like crazy after about 2 months. Like some of the other raters on the Lasko floor fans,I took them apart to try to tighten them up, but to no avail.

Bummer.

5 out of 5 stars Got 2, both working great after 1.5 years   March 31, 2008

I bought my first one right after summer of 2006 and use it mainly to move air around in the room (not necessarily for the cooling effect) and it's worked great. When summer 2007 hit, my extended family loved my fan so much, they all bought one. I bought a second 'spare' as well. My 2 are working like a charm and quiet as a mouse, and as far as I know, theirs are working as well... so that's 4 total working great.
Hopefully those who got defected ones were able to exchange them.

All 4 of ours were from Sam's Club.

5 out of 5 stars Best Fan Ever !   November 28, 2007

We've owned our Lasco 48 inch tall fan for 8 months. It is the quietest fan with the greatest amount of air flow of any fan we've owned or encountered. Not sure why others are reporting problems. We move it easily. It takes up less than 1 square foot of floor space, and collects and throws air from ground level where its coolest. The round cage type blades are ultra quiet at low speed; and even on lowest speed, it puts out huge amounts of air. The remote and the ionizer option are both a plus.

FIRST REVIEW EVER. I DON'T BELIEVE THE REVIEWS I AM READING ARE FOR THE SAME FAN AS I HAVE
THE LASKO 4820 48' TOWER FAN IS THE BEST . I HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONING AND THIS SUMMER WAS A ROUGH ONE HERE IN SO. CAL. I BOUGHT 2 ONE FOR MY SON IN AN UPSTAIRS APT AND ONE FOR ME IN A DOWNSTAIRS LARGE APT. THANKS LASKO FOR THE BEST FAN EVER. IT KEPT ME COMFORTABLE THE WHOLE SUMMER AND SAVED IN ELEC (no airconditioner) at times it was on for more than 24 hrs straight. MY MOM CAME OVER LOVED IT AND I AM NOW LOOKING FOR ONE FOR HER AND ANOTHER FOR ME
AND IT'S NOV. CLEAN LOOK, QUIET, DURABLE, REMOTE CONTROL I LOVE IT
