Sunbeam October 5, 2008 Ryszard Langier I use this product 12 hours each day at work. A Sunbeam I was using before worked excellent. In this one the buttons are too deep - the contacts are not too good. Otherwise the product is working very well for me.
Great timer/clock, nice BIG display, but most buttons STICK May 11, 2008 Time-Lapsed 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice BIG display - so you don't need glasses. The display is not backlit. The smaller buttons on the front always stick when you press them. The buttons stay depressed until you fuss around with them to get them to pop back up. It's a real nuisance! The alarm sound and button press sound may be loud for some people but it's perfect for my needs. It takes 1xAAA battery (which it comes with) so its easy to find a replacement battery. The bottom half of the front is a metal surface that the buttons stick through. The openings for the smaller buttons may be too small and that may be why the buttons stick when you press them. There's a kick-stand on the back so you can set it on a flat surface with the timer angled back for easier viewing. The kick stand has a large magnet on it but it's not strong enough to support the weight of the timer on a vertical metal surface (refrigerator, microwave, file cabinet, etc.). It has a 24-hr clock (top) and count-up timer (bottom) that are displayed at the same time. This is nice. You have to switch to it's second mode to see its 2 count-down timers, which can be set to count down hours, minutes, and seconds. The alarm sounds for 1-minute. There is one button on the back that lets you switch between a 12 or 24 hour clock display (12 shows am/pm in the display). I accidentally dropped it on my desk but everything still works. It fell about a foot and now there's a piece of something rattling around inside. It's cheaply made. If it weren't for the BIG display, the loud alarm, and its full set of features, I would not recommend this particular Sunbeam digital clock/timer.
Great timer February 23, 2008 E. Foote (Upstate New York) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a very good little timer, I have several of them. I bought my first one at Walmart 2 years ago and have used it multiple times a day for 2 years and it's still going strong. It's easy to use and program, and having two timers comes in very handy. The alarm starts counting up when it goes off, and the audible beep lasts for 90 seconds. For Memory function, just hit the button on the back of the timer. It also has a clock which I don't use. Maximum timed length is 23 hours 59 minutes. I find the display starts to fade if the battery is getting low, so change the battery if it does, and then wait 24 hours for the display to come totally back. Unfortunately I also bought one timer that had a faulty display and had to return it, but I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's such a good timer. It's sturdy (and I'm hard on things), easy to program, reasonably priced, beeps long enough and loud enough, and I highly recommend it!
Try before you buy December 1, 2006 D. Chester (NM) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased this timer, and it malfunctioned right out of the box - only the upper and lower quarters of the screen work. It is disappointing that a name like Sunbeam no longer seems to mean the quality it used to, just another imported piece of junk.
