We purchased this unit so that my kids would not be able to play with the pull cords on the ceiling fan. We weren't certain how well it would work, but the installation was fairly simple. We got it right on the first try.
The remote control needs an A23 battery which was not included in our package. Wiring was fairly straightforward and the control unit tucked neatly into the fan casing.
If you control your fan with a light switch, be aware that the system defaults to the off position every time you turn off the light switch, so you will need your remote to activate the fan and the light again...don't lose your remote! Overall, we really like this gadget!
