While these piglets are cute and just the right size, they are inadequately packed for shipping. Two sets arrived shattered, and Amazon elected not to send any more. That was fine because I tired quickly of repacking and trekking to the post office. The problem could be solved if someone at Amazon would stick a bit of bubble-wrap in the package, but that was evidently not an option (I asked).

I saw Nigella use these on Food Network and decided they would be good for our salt. We keep Kosher and sea salt next to the stove. In the first package I received one of the piglets was cracked on the top. I contacted amazon and told them it was not packed well enough. The piglets are in their own box, but that box was in a larger amazon box with air pockets that were not full of air. Amazon sent a new set right away. When the next package came I could hear that it was broken before opening it. I opened it and one of the piglets was completely shattered. After opening this one I realized the packaging problem was not the fault of amazon. The piglets are just sitting in their own box with nothing to protect them. They are supposed to sit in a little cardboard foot, but if they come loose (which seems to happen easily) they are just rolling around in the box.
Luckily I did not have to ship back the first package so between the 2 orders I got a complete set. The tray was fine both times. I contacted the company via email and they said they would look into better packaging for shipping.
Other than the packing problem this is a great product and looks great on the counter.

I own these and love them, but the reason for the missing star is if I had to do it over again I would have bought the larger salt pig instead since that is what I use the most of and it is bigger to fit your fingers in.

Lovely to look at (like all of Nigella's products), and very useful, as they hold a very good quanity of salt and pepper.
