Design FlawOctober 24, 2007 L. Knights(Silicon Valley) This hand mixer has what I would consider a serious design flaw. The power cord is on the right hand side of the mixer, making it maybe okay for mixing when your outlet is on the right, but terrible if your outlet is on the left. I was mixing up a batch of meringue buttercream and I had the stove on my right, heating my sugar and water, and the outlet on my left with this mixer beating my egg whites and by the time I was done I was completely frustrated and the mixer and electrical cord had buttercream all over because the cord kept getting over/in the bowl.
If you know you have an electrical outlet to the right of where you will be mixing, this mixer might be okay for you, but even then it doesn't stand up very well when you set it down on the counter so I still wouldn't recommend it.
