Amazon.com Review What could be more American than a homemade apple pie? And what could possibly be more tedious than cutting up all those apples for baking? This handy corer will take 10 minutes or more off the prep time for delectable desserts like tarte tatin, apple crisp, brown Betty, and turnovers. Just push into the stem of an apple and twist--it's easy as, well, pie. A hanging hook lets you keep this tool within arm's reach throughout the fall harvest. --Mary Park

One of those things you don't think about... August 23, 2008 British (Gillette, Wyoming) I have been cooking for more years than I care to think about. Up until a month or so ago, I didn't have an apple corer. It wasn't anything I ever thought of-not until I needed it, that is. Well, I finally have one! May I suggest this as as a small addition to a basket of utensils for newly weds or a housewarming gift?

I've never owned an apple corer before, but am very satisfied with this one. I found it works best if you carefully get it started by piercing the skin on one end, and then ram it through against a wood cutting board (otherwise it's difficult to manage, as it takes a certain amount of force). The core then pulls out quite nicely. I expect a tool like this to last much longer than anything electric, and no hassles plugging it in!
Great Tool May 15, 2007 Magalia M (Magalia, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Once you learn how to use the corer so that it removes only the core of the fruit, you'll wonder how you ever sliced fruit without it...
Great Product November 26, 2006 CityBoi (Anaheim, Ca USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great kitchen gadget. There are many model out there, but the Kitchen Aid model seems to be the best. Its got a strong handle so you don't have to worry about breaking it when your using it. Its a good size as well which allows for an easy grip. The blade has a nice design to it which allows it to enter the apple very smoothly... If you don't own one, I say it worth getting this one..
