Amazon.com Review This versatile cheese slicer glides through hard or semi-soft cheeses with ease and makes light work of creating cheese trays or hors d'oeuvres for a party. The slicer measures 7-3/4 inches from head to handle's end and has a thick plastic handle with stainless-steel accents for more controlled movements. The head of the slicer has a 4-inch-wide wire and roller made of heavy-duty stainless steel, which is less likely to snap under pressure when cutting through heavier cheeses. For additional durability, the wire and roller are mounted to a sturdy fiberglass-reinforced nylon frame with cast bolsters. This professional-level slicer is dishwasher-safe for easier cleanup. KitchenAid offers a hassle-free replacement warranty on this slicer during the first year of ownership and a lifetime limited warranty on it thereafter. --Cristina Vaamonde

A relyable cheese slicer September 4, 2008 Juggelerman Arrrrrgh! (None ya) Very good with cutting the cheese and that is not saying any thing about stinking up the joint on you. This cheese slicer is a very good thing to have and is indeed a must have to keep in your kitchen as a food tool. This cheese slicer is very comfortable to grab and hold and is also easy to wash.
It is as good as the wire January 12, 2008 Ken Davis (Findlay, OH USA) Most slicers of this type are the same. This one has a good feel but time will tell if it is any better than the next one. The question is whether the wire will be strong and last a long time or will it break or stretch. It has worked well the few times I have used it and is easy to clean and it looks good. I would recommend it.
does not work July 27, 2007 health nut 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am normally a fan of kitchen aid. This slicer has not cut a single peice of cheese since I brought it home. I've tried it on hard cheese, semi hard and soft sheese. It's really just taking up space in my utensils drawer.

Stands up to hard cheddars, but won't hold its nose at your processed cheese or softer cheeses either (pssst, that means even Velveeta, for all the other single gals out there). The Kitchen Aid name promises it will be around awhile, and the thread is taught and doesn't slip at all. My hero. :-)
good but there are better ones March 14, 2007 BigMutt (Mexico City) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought four hand cheese slicers and returned three of them, including this one. Kept the Trudeau, it's definitely the best.
