SO-SO March 24, 2008 Brenda Arellano (Bellflower, Ca) I Purchased this knife back in Sept 2007 and the blade began getting rust looking spots on it after only about 2 months. Not as good as thought
Best Knife I've ever used January 12, 2008 Athene Five (USA) I purchased this on the basis of the reviews here on Amazon and am happy to say I made the right choice. I have used it almost exclusively since it arrived in August and can't imagine how I got along without it. The knife has a very comfortable soft-grip style handle that does not slip in your hand, so you have a good solid grip at all times without having to clench. This is a real advantage for someone who has arthritis and smallish hands. The blade is remarkably easy to keep at its sharpest and is shaped to easily perform all the necessary functions from delicate slicing to chopping. This knife has almost replaced my french chef's knife and is always the first one I reach for. I have never put it in the dishwasher, as I always hand wash my knives, so can only say that it cleans up beautifully, resists staining, chipping, rust with the usual care that one gives good cutlery. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a functional, high quality knife.
Not sharp enough October 10, 2007 Closer (Alexandria, VA United States) I like the balance and feel of the knife, but as delivered it simply isn't sharp enough. I assume I will be able to sharpen it up sufficiently with my stone when I get around to it, but it has started out as the least-sharp knife I've ever purchased.
Not as Sharp as I my OXO brand Santoku Knife August 12, 2007 Juan Rosas (Los Angeles, CA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently purchase the kitchen aid Santoku Knife but it is not very sharp at all. I think the knife is well built has good balance and grip but it could use a good sharp edge. I decided to purchase a knife sharpener and I plan to give it a good sharpening hopefully that will do it.
not as pleased as i thought i'd be August 11, 2007 A. Vinci 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Usually impressed with KitchenAid products - - - I accidently put it in the dishwasher - - ONCE - - all pitted and rusted. It was great until that happened. I own a collection of CUTCO - - - I've accidently put them in the dishwasher as well, even though they don't recommend it - -- NO PROBLEMS!!!! So, I would not recommend!!
