A really nice bowl February 25, 2008 Pennsylvania Shopper (PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this for Christmas and was thrilled. I've wanted a spinner for years and it was pink. The bowl is great! Nice size and the lid can be used after the spinner is removed (there is a rubber stopper that comes with it). However, it doesnt dry things as well as other spinners.
regret this purchase November 28, 2007 Celia A. Keel (harveyville, ks United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i give 1 star because it is pretty. it doesnt dry anything and is awkward to use. my old cheapo spinner did a good job although it was very small. i chose this one for its size and kitchen aid brand. so far i have not been too happy with kitchen aid except for my wonderful stand mixer. wish my grandson hadnt broken my old spinner
Spinning August 23, 2007 Minga Mouse 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love it, but it has one downfall - the lid does not lock/hold in place so to use it I have to use one hand to keep the lid on and the other to pump it. I love that it can be compartmentalized (hmm, even a word?) with 1, 2, or all 3 inserts and I love that it can also be storage with a rubber stopper for the hole in the lid.
Better Than My last One But the Oxos Looks Better Designed August 5, 2007 D. Henderson (Baltimore, MD) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've used this (Chinese made) salad spinner for over two months. Pros: Okay, it's better than my previous Italian made spinner with the crank. Even though that one has a larger capacity than this KitchenAid, it was prone to getting unbalanced which the KitchenAid has yet to do. The dividers work for helping to spin dry herbs like cilantro, even when I just place it in one of the three divided compartments. No unbalance. Cons: Unlike my old one and the Oxo, the design of the KitchenAid does not allow me to easily wash or rinse items using the drying basket insert: the plunger in the center easily takes in water which I'd prefer not to get water inside. I was able to remove the plunger assembly although it did take some effort to remove it the first time. While I can live with accidentally locking the plunger while spinning the basket, it's annoying that the base of the bowl has a plastic ring with holes. I'm guessing the holes create a semi-seal to help hold the bowl in place during spinning. The down side is that water enters these holes during washing and the bowl must air dry overnight preventing me from just wiping it down and storing it away immediately. I've noticed that the Oxo salad spinners are also available with a stainless bowl as well as the spinner assembly can be taken apart for cleaning. I'll probably be my next spinner.
Just wonderful to clean and dry salad etc July 21, 2007 Marianne Elizabeth 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the product. It performs well in drying my salads and also performs double duty as a pretty pink salad serving bowl.
