Product Description This elegant steel Winged Corkscrew is a must-have gadget for any wine lover. It has a soft, comfortable body and a smooth, nonstick worm that will remove any cork with one simple motion. The corkscrew has a shark foil cutter than rests inside its handle, so you will never misplace it when you need to open a bottle. The brushed stainless steel is durable and stylish. The corkscrew is dishwasher safe.

Would be great, if it didn't break November 28, 2008 D. Karras (Philadelphia, PA) Ergonomically great ... however, the corkscrew broke after about a month. The foil cutter is worthless.
Fancy-looking junk September 10, 2008 R. Salerno (New York) The Oxo SteeL Winged Corkscrew is a modern take on the old school wine opener we all know. We got about six month's use from it, until one day the corkscrew broke off in a cork. To be fair, it broke off in a plastic cork that is popular these days, and not a "real" cork. However, many vineyards have turned to plastic corks, so it seems reasonable to expect a corkscrew be able to handle these without breaking. We went back to using our "old school" opener which is still going strong after 10 years, on all types of corks, and has a handy bottle opener on top instead of a useless foil cutter thingie. NOT recommended.
Not a hands-free corkscrew, people! August 12, 2008 Terry Moore (Indianapolis, IN) After reading the other reviews on this, I'm convinced that people have mistaken this for a hands-free corkscrew. Yes, this is a heavy piece - and that's why you'd buy it! After owning many that broke apart in every conceivable fashion, I decided to lay out more cash, and I wasn't disappointed! If you are having trouble getting the corkscrew started in the cork, YOU NEED TO STOP DRINKING! (Hehehe...) Seriously, why would that be a measure of the quality of a corkscrew? Unless you are in some sort of bottle-opening speed tournament, I don't see why it matters...just my opinion, I know... Maybe it's just that my wife and I have had so much practice opening wine bottles - I dunno - but if you are looking for a high-quality corkscrew that will last a long time, this is the one!
Does the Job Well April 19, 2008 beethovensrabbit (CT, USA) Overall, this is another good offering from OXO. I was a little concerned at first because the corkscrew appeared to be a bit bulky, but this has not proven to be a problem with its operation. In fact, it feels far sturdier than your run of the mill cheapo metal winged corkscrew. The built-in foil cutter works nicely, and the large rubber-coated top that one turns to extract the cork proves comfortable and easy to turn. I have not had a problem getting the screw to go into the cork at all like one of the other reviewers. I expect this corkscrew to last a long time, and to open many many bottles of wine.
Poor construction March 4, 2008 C. Wood I loved this when I saw it at a friend's house with the cute little foil cutter built-in, and finally got one. The foil cutter never cut foil and promptly broke. Figuring it was a fluke, I returned it and got a new one- same issue. The corkscrew itself isn't even that great. You can get a cheaper one that is much more efficient.
