worthless November 27, 2008 T. McDonald I bought these at the grocery store and put all of my veggies in them right away. I had heard that they worked if you kept wiping the moisture out of them. Everything I put in them (strawberries, lettuce, etc) ...rotten. The strawberries were literally bad the very next day. Save your money!
I love these Green Bags! November 25, 2008 D. Bookwalker (Eagle River, Alaska) I'm not sure what makes this bag a success for some and not for others. I've had a great experience with them. One thing that I learned is not to close the bag up tightly. Also, don't wash produce before slipping into the bags. I leave the ends mostly open and use them on the veggies and fruits that I refrigerate. They didn't work well for the tomatoes I left on the counter, but for everything else, they've extended the life by a week or two. I recommend them for all produce stored in the fridge and hold back one star because it didn't work for the tomatoes at room temperature. Well worth the money since I have washed and will reuse them many times.
somewhat helpful November 24, 2008 Dixie Vogel (KS United States) I got some of the DMGB hoping they would help cut down on the waste and stretch my food budget a bit. The results have been mixed. The biggest single factor I can pinpoint, however, is definitely moisture in the bag. I store all my food with a paper towel in the bag to absorb excess moisture and replace it every 1 -2 days. Doing this, it does last longer than without the bag. So it's not exactly a miracle out of the box, and results are not consistent across the board. But for expensive fresh fruits and veggies, it's worth the effort to me to extend their life by keeping the inside of the bag dry.
These bags work! November 15, 2008 D. Hill (Lewisville, TX) These bags really do extend the life of the fruit. I use them for strawberries and tomatoes and get 3 or 4 more days of extra life which makes these worth it for our family.
