Product Description
This slow cooker is ideal for smaller families and singles, after all even if you're dining solo you still deserve a hearty healthy meal, don't you? Operation and clean up are easy. Coming home to a hot and tasty dinner will make it seem as though some kind of cooking fairy visited your home while you were out to work.

Amazon.com Review
When set on low for all-day simmering, this cooker from the makers of the original Crock Pot slowly tenderizes meat, turning even budget cuts into juicy meals. A modest 3-1/2-quart size, the oval-shaped crock holds enough chicken, beef, stew or soup for two to three people. The temperature knob has three settings: off, low, and high. The crock, which lifts from the base for cleaning, features a rinse-clean, lifetime stick-resistant coating. As long as extreme changes in temperature are avoided, such as placing in cold water when hot, the crock should give years of service. Both the crock and lid are dishwasher-safe. A one-year warranty covers this slow cooker from defects. --Ann Bieri

1 out of 5 stars In the Trash After Three Years   February 28, 2010
G. Hoffmann (N. Wildwood, NJ USA)
I bought this crock-pot from Amazon in October 2006. The unit occasionally burned the bottom of meats after eight or so hours on the "High" setting, but otherwise I had no complaints until today.

After only 3½ years of light use, the handle on the lid snapped off. The handle is attached to the lid with a phillips head screw that goes through the lid into a hex bolt imbedded into the plastic handle. The design is such that it is not only impossible to repair, but you can't get the lid off the cooker without burning your fingers. Picture a vise grip pliers attached to the bolt to get through today's meal and you can understand why I'm looking for a new crock-pot.

Because of the issue with the occasional burning of meats, I'm now considering a programmable one to make up for this shortcoming. One star is deserved because you ought to be able to use a crock-pot without having to throw it out after the limited use that I gave this one.

2 out of 5 stars Takes the 'slow' out of Slow cooking.   February 28, 2010

If all you make in your crock is soups and stews, this would probably be fine for you. However, if you want a crock-pot you can get creative in or one you can leave on while you're at work this isn't the one for you. I made steel-cut oatmeal that should have cooked on low for 8-9 hours, it was done in 4.5! Since I was home it wasn't a big deal but I can't imagine what this would have looked like after 8 hours! It is usable if you are home with it, but if I had known how hot and fast this would cook I wouldn't have purchased it. That said, I do love the size and removable pot. I have not had issues with the lid as other people have mentioned, but mine is a good 6 or 7 years old now so it could be a newer issue.

3 out of 5 stars handle broke off   February 12, 2010

Hi. This product works great, but the cover slipped out of my hands into the sink, and though it didn't break, the handle broke off. No glue works on it, and crockpot no longer sells this lid as a replacement part. The silliest thing is that they don't sell the handle as a replacement part even though it's attached by a screw and so completely removable. The offered me a discount on a new pot, but that is so wasteful!

1 out of 5 stars Wrong item sent   January 7, 2010

I returned this item because I had ordered an OVAL Crockpot and they sent a round in substitution - that is not what I wanted. I did not take it out of the box because it is not what I wanted - therefore I can not rate the item.

3 out of 5 stars Cooks hot - will boil on LOW setting   October 5, 2009

Works well enough, but have to watch it until you're familiar with how it is going to cook. The lid rests on the crock, but does not seat as well as my Mom's 30 year old pot. Also, the pot will boil on the Low heat setting. I tried a recipe that called for overnight on the Low setting, and it came out a gummy burnt mess. I will not be able to use this pot the way my mom used hers - I don't trust it not to burn if I am not home to watch it. What is not evident from the picture is that the crock itself angles in toward the bottom, rather than having straight sides. Maybe that is part of the issue?

As far as delivery goes, the pot arrived in good condition within the expected delivery time. No complaints about that.
