Product Description 6qt Round Slow Cooker
Amazon.com Review Ideal for a large family or a dinner party, this round CrockPot from Rival is cleanly designed and simple to operate. One dial turns to three heat settings, low, high, and keep warm for serving, and a red light indicates the power is on. The heavy stoneware crock lifts out of the heating base for easy cleaning thanks to a stick-resistant coating, and is attractive enough to serve from right at the table. While the crock is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher, it is not intended for use on a stovetop or under a broiler. With two cook settings, low and high, the pot can slow cook a wide variety of stews, roasts, and soups, recipes for which are included in the owner's guide. The glass lid, also dishwasher-safe, sends moisture back into the pot while at the same time allows contents to be viewed. Easy to carry by means of heat-resistant, flange-style handles, the pot measures 10 inches high by 12 inches in diameter (14 inches with handles). Rival covers the slow cooker with a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Can't live without it May 19, 2010 L. Sammons (Texas, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
You will never regret making this purchase. This crock pot is an absolute must have for any busy parent. I can't imagine living my life without the ability to throw dinner in the slow cooker at the same time I am serving up breakfast, set it on low and forget it until I walk in the door for dinner! Absolutely wonderful.

I have had this slow cooker for over 2 years now and it still works as good as new. We use this crockpot probably at least 3 times a week and it is still going strong. Can't beat it for the price!

"Low" setting = burn city May 2, 2010 A.W. I purchased this slow cooker on my mother's advice, since she's been using this model for years. In terms of price, capacity, and ease of use, it's great. However, the heat settings seem to be way, way too high. Did you know that a slow cooker is capable of burning food into oblivion? I sure didn't.
As it is now, I can only use this cooker on the weekends when I'm home to watch it, because recipes that are supposed to take 8-12 hours to cook are generally done in 3 or 4. I bought it for the purpose of coming home to cooked meals after work, but anything left unattended in this cooker for more than seven or eight hours will completely scald.
It cooks adequately if you have the time to watch it carefully, but for my purposes, it's worthless. I'll be purchasing a better model.
Great for shabbat February 2, 2010 G. Landau (DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does a great job - its ceramic for easy cleaning and the manual controls make sure the heat stays on over all of shabbat vs. the regular timer ones.
I taught myself to cook using this crockpot! January 19, 2010 Jennifer King (San Antonio, TX) Before I bought this crockpot last fall, I truly never set foot in my kitchen except to get a diet Coke from the fridge. This is so easy to use that even a novice cook like myself can be truly confident about turning out great soups, chilis, and more -- even as I type, I can smell tonight's pork ribs with homemade barbecue sauce cooking! This would make a great housewarming gift for college graduates or newlyweds.
