2 out of 5 stars West Bend Versatility Deluxe   July 12, 2008

I purchased this for my daughter and then one for myself. My daughter's pan was warped and did not cook evenly. When I contacted the manufacturer I received a very tepid response. I even offered to purchase another pan to fit on the base, but I was told that size was not available. I always had a high regard for West Bend products when they were manufactured in the USA but since they are now made in China the quality is not the same. I will not be buying their products in the future.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent cooker   June 18, 2008

I have bought my husband two of these cookers. (one drowned in Hurricane Katrina) He loves the versatility of the slow cooker and the ability to transfer the pot to the stove for reheating. I think that this cooker is the only one on the market that you can do that with.

5 out of 5 stars User Friendly Cooker   April 18, 2008
M. Conrad (Shueyville, IA USA)
This slow cooker works very well. So user friendly anyone could use it. West Bend is a quality company to work with. The first base did not heat, contacted West Bend, and they quickly sent a replacement. Would definitely buy more of their products knowing they service and take care of their customers.
Love the glass top/lid. Allows you to monitor the progress of the your food.
The base could be used as a grill. The stainless pan is easily cleaned and can also be used as a pan on your stove top or to place into your refrigerator with leftovers. Great feature!
Would recommend this product to anyone.

2 out of 5 stars It's okay but...   March 18, 2008
M. Lory (Maryland)
The two stars are for the looks and it does a good job of keeping things warm, however, as a crockpot, I did not like it's performance. The heat is only at the base of the pot and therefore cooks the food differently than a crockpot where the heat surrounds the food. Also, the lid slips off the lip with just the slightest bump. I liked the thought of browning meats on the stovetop with the removable portion but on my glass top stove, the pot was shaking so violently that I had to keep a hand on it the whole time to keep it from falling off. I have not experienced that with any other pot I own so I'm not sure what was causing that.
