Pot cracked with used on Low Setting March 15, 2010 Cheryl J. Reijon (Minneapolis, MN) Which indicates that the low setting is much too hot. Amazon does not accept returns after 30 days, so I am going to have to go through the manufacturer to try to get a new pot. I don't know if it will be covered under the manufacture's warranty. I have never had this problem with a crockpot before and I've been using them for 30 years. .
Crockpot SCR500 5Quart Slow Cooker February 26, 2010 Vaughn S. Thompson (Utah) I've used it and I love it. Better than any crock pot I have owned. Does a perfect job and is so easy to clean!
Broken Low Setting November 25, 2009 Michele (TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The LOW setting is actually HIGH. Burns food severely within 2 hours. Went to manufacturer for new one. Would have ruined Thanksgiving if I hadn't tested it ahead of time. Tested it twice on 2 favorite recipes. Same results.

Warm, and HOT
I have owned a few Crock Pots in the past and have been so very happy until this one came along.
The Low setting has ruined more chilli dishes than I can remember as already stated it cooks WAY too hot! I'm talking burnt chunks of food after 4 hours on low. Forget the set it and leave it idea if you choose this crock..perhaps if you have a clear soup in it you will get away with it.
Also this crock pot seems a lot smaller than the allegedly same sized crock pot that it replaced! The same dishes in the same amounts overflow in this crock.
I also don't care for the plastic handle and should have noted that before I purchased this item. I have not had good luck with these handles long term and although ours is still fine 2 years later I remain wary.
We are replacing this one very soon, till then our crockpot dishes have been put on hold.
I guess I should find one positive about this crockpot before I end this review? Well the insert is of good quality and cleans easily (even with burnt chilli plastered to the bottom) and it is a pretty design on the outside.
Other than that I'd strongly urge looking elsewhere.
Easy Cooking October 6, 2009 B Joann Ragsdale When you are unable to stand by your stove to cook a meal, this crockpot can do the cooking for you without you standing by. Since I have "MS", it is sometimes difficult for me to stand. I can have a wonderful dinner waiting for me in the crockpot, plus when I fix a larger portion of food(s) in it, I would have enough for two meals.
