1 out of 5 stars It's a Cracked Pot, not a Crock Pot   March 17, 2010
J. Rochat (Dunno, CA)
I've got loads of All-clad cooking pots and pans. I love them. When my college-era Rival Crock pot died though, I wept. Naturally, I went to All-clad, expecting greatness. I used it frequently and babied it. Though it was a bit on the hot side, and the lid didn't seal allowing some things to dry out, I was happy enough until I noticed a crack developing. Then I started reading about MANY others with the same problem, and their general difficulties getting it replaced. Like me, many reported disbelief and horrible customer service. Less than 2 years out, and this expensive slow cooker is cooked?

All-clad does well with steel. They should just stay with what they do well. Don't spend your money on this unless you have money to throw away, and then you're probably not using a slow cooker at home anyway....

5 out of 5 stars Get the aluminum insert, you'll be thrilled with it.   March 12, 2010
JR (Saratoga, CA)
Although this is an absolutely beautiful "slow cooker", if you're going to buy the one with the ceramic insert, just buy a cheaper "crock pot". However, if you want a truly superior appliance, get this with the aluminum non-stick insert. The flat-bottomed aluminum pan allows you to brown your meats on the stove, gas or ceramic/electric cooktops. The bottom is perfectly flat and conducts heat brilliantly. Browning really changes the quality of a slow-cooked meal. I hate the canned-soupy-flavor of most crock pot meals done in the traditional crockpots. This All-Clad cooker will change your view of slow-cooking. The Teflon coating is standing up very well to regular use. Just take care of it. Do not over-heat it when empty, do not dunk it in water when hot, and NEVER put it in the dishwasher. We love this thing. I think it looks so cool that I won't let my wife put it away off the kitchen counter. ...beautiful!

1 out of 5 stars horrible slow cooker   March 6, 2010

This slow cooker was so much more expensive than the other brands that I thought it would last longer than a year. The whole inside is bubbled up and peeling off. Do not waste your money on this item.

1 out of 5 stars poor product poor customer service   February 26, 2010

Used it four times. The Ceramic Liner cracked. Called Customer Service to order a new one..backordered. Waited, backordered again. Got fed up and returned it to the manufacturer with a nasty note about their poor product and poor customer service. The product is worthless without the ceramic liner and it is defective.
Don't waste your money!! I'm out a couple hundred bucks on this purchase.
I spend a considerable amount of time cooking high quality home cooked meals for my family and I am totally disappointed with this purchase, and will not purchase another All Clad product.

5 out of 5 stars Stylish Slow Cooker   February 24, 2010
K. Albright (Dallas, Texaa)
Great cooker. I had a Rival 4 qt. for years and worked fine but wanted a larger cooker. Appreciate the timer and able to handle larger recipes, etc. I would have liked to have had a recipe book to go with it. A few recipes were with the cooker but would have enjoyed a recipe book with more recipes. Use this quite frequently and easy to clean, as well. Even though it may be more expensive than the normal price of slow cookers, I like all the added features and larger capacity better. Appreciated being shipped to my door with no shipping fee or taxes. Money saved.
