This Rival 6-qt. slow cooker is roomy enough to hold an entire chicken or roast and vegetables, too. Rival OVAL Crock with little dipper January 6, 2010 Jackie Galvin (Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was given this for Christmas. The FIRST time I cooked anything in it the stoneware CRACKED. BEWARE: This is a common occurrance with this specific crock pot and you can NOT find any help with RIVAL. The customer 800 line suggested I contact "Consumer Affairs"! Are you kidding me? I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Amazon should not have this item for sale unless we can get a warrentee on it and be able to contact RIVAL about problems with their items.

Check The Stoneware Insert.... January 2, 2010 J. K. Porter (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this crockpot at a local store several months ago and have used it only 3-4 times. I was not too happy with it as the stoneware insert was so heavy but overall it seemed to cook items okay. I was washing the insert tonight and noticed a crack running across the bottom so I doubt I'll be using it again for fear it will break. I've always been very careful with the insert and washed it by hand instead of it going in the dishwasher so I'm really disappointed in the product.
This one's a winner December 5, 2009 Tracie Wallace I recently purchased this Rival crockpot after buying a Crofton (piece of junk). This crockpot is affordable and well worth the money. If you are looking for a no frills crockpot I highly recommend the Rival.

I purchased this crockpot and have used it several times. I find it perfectly satisfactory. My crock pot dishes have turned out wonderfully and I find the temperature controls satisfactory. It looks nice, is durable and I look forward to using it for a long time.
One to stay away from November 16, 2009 Joseph Leporini (Tucson, AZ - USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recieved my origonal Rival crock pot from a friend who had one too many crock pots after their wedding. Worked great for over 10 years until clumsy me dropped the ceramic which split in half.
I went to the local Wal-Mart to find a replacement, ended up getting this model. The first thing I prepared was some BBQ beef - fresh made BBQ sauce with a nice pork loin. I've done this dozens of times in my Rival, prepared in the morning before work, set on low, and is perfect when I get home 10+ hours later. I got home early after only 8-9 hours, and the the entire 3+ quarts of sauce were burnt TO A CRISP, not to mention the meat which was already so dry and fused to the ceramic, that I had trouble chipping it off to clean the mess. Absolutly the worst product I have ever purchace. In the process of hunting down some place to get a Rival now in time for Thankgiving and the cold stew season.
