Great Slow Cooker July 13, 2008 JFV (Corrales, NM) I had a Rival 6 qt. programmable crockpot, but it was WAY too hot. It dried everything out even if I used low and switched to warm -- it kept boiling away. I have used this 3-4 times and it seems to cook nice and slow and doesn't dry things out. So far I am VERY pleased.
LOVE IT ! July 10, 2008 Diane M. Richard (Bourne, Ma USA) I FOUND THIS SLOW COOKER PERFECT FOR WHAT I NEEDED. IT'S A BIG SIZE FOR STEW AND SOUPS. IT'S VERY NICE LOOKING AND CLEANS UP EASILY. ABOUT THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IS THE CORD IS TOO SHORT. I ALSO DON'T USE THE LOW SETTING, I USE THE NEXT ONE UP, AND EVERYTHING COMES OUT GREAT. GREAT PRICE TOO!
Great crockpot June 7, 2008 K. Bliss I love the versatility of this slow cooker. My mom used an older West Bend crockpot for about ten years, and it was always dependable and worked great. I got her this as a replacement for it only because the finish was starting to come off her other slow cooker - it still worked fine! West Bend is just a great brand, and the way this crockpot is set up as opposed to other crockpots is really superior.
My third West Bend Slow Cooker May 29, 2008 Betty Joos (Sautee, GA USA) I have worn out two other West Bend slow cookers over the years. This time, I read the reviews on Amazon about the stainless steel one and almost decided against it for the original model. However, the complaints I saw by some of the reviewers-- a bowing of the pot if you put it on the stove top to brown your meat first-- have not come to pass for me. The cooker has a nice "weighty" feel, and I have had no problems with it. I use my slow cooker several times a month when I am home, and I love this new one! It fits nicely with my other stainless steel appliances and does the slow cooking job well.
Husband very picky about his slow cooker and he this made his Birthday Happy! May 15, 2008 Optimist (Arkansas) Prompt deliver, great product, everything we were hoping and expecting. This is my husbands 4th slow cooker, he doesn't like the ceramic inserts so he loves this one.
