I LOVE this slow cooker August 30, 2008 Cindy Garman (cincinnati) I already had one and I LOVE it so much that I bought a second one. I do alot of weekend cooking and this way I can cook 2 things at once. I also use it to defrost frozen batches of sauces or meals. I have NEVER had anything burn in this pot. I use to have a standard crockpot but did not have good luck with it. Things burnt or did not get done. Not with this one. This is a SUPREME slow cooker.
What a fantastic cooker July 31, 2008 Richard D. Thompson (Queens, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this because of a friend's recommendation about a year and a half ago. I was expecting more of a Rival Crockpot type of device and when I first opened it I thought this just is not going to work well. I am really surprised. It cooks well on the range top, the griddle part also works well as a griddle, and when you put the two together it also works just fine. I made a pot roast a couple of weeks ago. I first browned onions, garlic and carrots on the stove top. Then I browned the meat an all sides as well. Took that out and tossed a little wine in to mix it all up and then put the meat, the onions, garlic and carrots and bay leaves, rosemary and thyme in the pot. Added beef stock half way up the roast, set it on the griddle base, turned it to low and let it go for about 6 hours. It came out just right. Everything done in the one pot and just the way I like it. Way better than the old type of crock pot in my opinion. Lots of uses in one device and easy to clean up as well. Could not do better and it was not expensive.
a little too small May 30, 2008 Missyfit (West Sacramento, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this cooker because I had the 6 quart oblong years ago and really liked it. This is supposed to be a 5qt, but it only holds a little over 4 qts. I did complain to the manufacturer, but really got no response. Otherwise I think it will be great. I'm using it for my motorhome and really like the tote so I can pack it away in a bay outside and not worry about breakage or rattling.
Great slow cooker May 4, 2008 Linda Lou (Ohio, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This slow cooker is great. It cooks faster than a crock pot and is useful for keeping food warm. The glass lid and carry case clinched the purchase for me. I've used it a number of times now and I am very pleased with the speed in which it starts cooking, then just turn down the heat to keep the food slightly simmering.
