Product Description Great food takes time? something you just don't have. KitchenAid's patient slow cooker does most of the work for you, gently heating the most tender roasts and sumptuous stews you've ever tasted. Just fill the 7-quart ceramic pot with your favorite ingredients, program the 10-hour timer with digital display and let the 400-watt heating element slowly simmer your meal to perfection. The 5-setting cook and serve control keeps food warm until it's ready to serve. Hassle-free one-year replacement warranty.

Horrible, Horrible Experience. 4 ceramic crocks later. July 20, 2008 Carole A. Martin (Deerfield Beach, FL) Delighted to get this beautiful product...until I used it. Craaack! What was that noise? The ceramic crock cracking during the first use. Oh, well. Just an exception to the rule. This is KitchenAid, right? The best, right? So, I wrote to the company and they sent me another ceramic crock. That cracked on the first use also. I wrote again, and they sent me a replacement appliance and a return shipping form. I sent the first slow cooker back and was delighted to have a new cooker, whose crock cracked during the first use. So, I notified the company. This time I was very upset. They replaced the ceramic crock, which dutifully cracked this time during the second use. I'm done! I have NEVER had a slow cooker that behaved this way, and I can't believe a fine company like KitchenAid is allowing these cookers to be sold. Let the buyer beware!
Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker July 17, 2008 W. Klein Great product with wonderful controls. My old slow cooker kept cooking the food even though it was supposed to be on warm only! My only 'complaint' is that I wish it were a little smaller in size. 7 quarts is VERY large. Great for soups but too big for many things I want to do and it simply takes up alot of storage space in my kitchen
So Far So Good June 10, 2008 Mark C. Etheridge (Myersville, Maryland USA) Took a chance on ordering this due to the high number of good comments I've seen, and the lack of anything else that seems comparable. There have been many complaints about cracking liners ... thus far we have not had that problem. We've used this about 4 times in the past month with great result ... my wife really enjoys it. She loves the timer and the different heat settings, and they were very easy to become familiar with. One negative comment from her, though, is that the liner is pretty heavy, which makes cleanup a little more difficult. But we cook in pretty big quantity so we needed to get this large unit. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of all the negative comments about liners breaking ... I still have my fingers crossed. Get one if you feel lucky!
So far, very happy with this slow cooker! June 4, 2008 L. Superczynski (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'll admit, given the many reviews of people having trouble with their crocks breaking, I feel like I might be jinxing myself offering up a positive review, but so far, I am very happy with this crock pot. I love the size and shape of it, though I will say that I can see it being a bit large for some recipes. I tend to cook larger cuts of meats and larger recipes so that I can freeze some, so I enjoy the larger size. The shape of the crock is wonderful, in my opinion, for holding larger items and roasts. This crock has not scorched once for me, and I love that. My old crock pot (the typical Rival) scorched everytime and always needed a good long soak before being cleaned out. This one can basically be wiped clean! I love the various settings and the timer is a feature I am truly enjoying. The only reason that I am not giving this cooker 5 stars is the lid. It serves its purpose and I have not had any issues cooking any of the dishes I have made, but the lid could definitely be reworked to fit better and provide a better seal. I have only had this product for a bit over a month and have used it a handful of times, so hopefully I will continue to have good luck with it and not end up with a cracked insert, but it has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen thus far. I love the look of it, and every dish I made has turned out beautifully. I have and will continue to handwash the insert over using the dishwasher, just as a precaution. I would definitely recommend this slow cooker!
