KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. This mixer is basically the Maserati of Mixers. My husband loves baking cookies, and he'd mix for days with a wooden spoon, now he's apart of the elite. With his Kitchen Aid, he's pretty much unstoppable. The mixer has 10 speeds that gets anything you need to throw in the bowl perfectly mixed. The deep bowl keeps most of the flour dust at bay, but it's still a pretty messy ordeal. My only issue with it is that it makes a clicking noise while blending which is pretty noisy. I wonder if this is normal, or if something got damaged in shipping? It seems like the Maserati of mixers would purr like a kitten and not making this click-clacking sound.

Mixer is up to my expectations. So far I've made cookies, pizza dough, and naan with this and it's been able to do it. Though I do have to mix some of the dough around to get it to be evenly mixed, its cut my baking time in half at least.

This is the second KitchenAid mixer I have owned. The first one was still operating fine after 20 years, but it was cosmetically beat. Just wanted a new mixer. You can't go wrong with these machines!

I am SO happy with my new Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It is FANTASTIC! It arrived in a flash and it looks awesome on my granite countertop. I recently graduated from college this month (after starting twenty-five years ago in 1983...marriage, life and my career postponed school), and I decided to congratulate myself with a quality stand mixer for graduation. I've always wanted one and I've heard how other cooks couldn't live without theirs.
Two years ago, I was being "cheap" and purchased an inexpensive stand mixer at Wal-Mart hoping that it would perform. I was wrong and I was very disappointed, but I should have known better. My meringue was a disaster because the beaters in the cheap mixer didn't reach all of the egg whites in the bowl.
This doesn't happen with my new Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! I was so impressed! It was awesome! Those egg whites are fluffy like they should be and the beater reaches all portions of the mixing bowl. This is how a stand mixer should perform.
This mixer may seem expensive at first, but the quality and ability to perform outweigh the money spent on those other cheap mixers that don't measure up and make cooking frustrating. I look forward to enjoying my new Kitchen Aid stand mixer for many years to come.
