Sanyo Space Saving oven March 15, 2010 Anna Kagan (Chcago, IL) Looks good. Takes little space.
But limited options. 15 minutes max time.
No option to turn it on without the timer.
Basically it is just for toasts.
A workhorse and a space saver February 24, 2010 The Stress Coach (Delray Beach, FL) My mother bought this toaster in white more than 20 years ago. It was working fine, but she'd painted it several times at the top, and the paint looked shabby. She didn't use heat resistant paint, and it started to crack, so I decided to buy her a new one (the same thing) only in silver. She thought that perhaps the stainless one was stainless steel, and athough when she called the manufacturer they told us that it was stainless, it's not. It's painted, same as the white one. We never did figure out why the silver model cost less than the white, but we were happy to save some money. Our old white toaster is in the garage as a spare. There's nothing wrong with it, other than the paint cracking and looking dingy. We could have kept using it indefinitely. If you want a workhorse that's space efficient, multi-purpose, long lasting and cost effective, this is the one to get.
Useful product when you don't need a full size toaster oven February 11, 2010 C. Scalfani (Long Island) Perfect for all those small jobs like grilled cheese, frozen pizza, bagel pizza, etc. Fills the gap between your bread toaster and the full sized oven.
This one replaced my 20 plus years old Sanyo oven. I was so satisfied with the first one, I bought this replacement. Same nice quality, Sanyo did not cheapen the product.
Works well, has a small footprint, and beautiful styling that fits well into your kitchen.
toss it out October 15, 2009 Sue D. Barnett (TEXAS) 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
this does not do a very good job. I am very disappointed based on the reviews I read.
I may toss it out soon.
Nice, with qualifications September 22, 2009 Huckle Cat (massachusetts, usa) It is compact, neat, and provides more flexibility than a conventional toaster, at the price of perhaps a slightly longer toast time. It does the job,and does it well, but it is a toaster, not much of a toaster oven.
Dislikes: (i) It does not shut off automatically when the door is opened. (ii) It has a clockwork timer that has several toasted-ness settings - you need to ignore those and learn to mentally calibrate it yourself. Not hard, but you need to know. (iii) It gets hot on the exterior. So if you find yourself reaching behind to pull the plug (did I mention there is no auto-shutoff?), be careful.
All that said, dagnabit, I like this thing!
