Amazon.com Review
A kitchen essential in kitchens both small and large, this toaster oven is large enough to roast a 5-pound chicken or toast six slices of thick bread. It can be used for baking pies, cookies, and casseroles; for broiling fish, steaks, and burgers; and for toasting bagels and English muffins as well as browning gratins and cobblers. Its nonstick interior wipes clean with a cloth and its crumb tray is removable for quick cleaning. The oven offers baking temperatures from 200 to 500 degrees F. There are three toast settings, as well as Keep Warm, Broil, and Bake features. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars great toaster oven   May 12, 2007

This toaster oven does a great job with all tasks, toasting, baking, broiling. The controls are easy to use. I like that the door lifts up rather than swinging down. And it is a perfect fit for my small counter. The only thing that's a problem is the crumb tray. It has to be removed from the back of the oven. And if anything large falls through the toasting rack, it won't come out through the crumb tray. And the toasting rack is not removable so you have to wrestle a fallen item up through the rack.

4 out of 5 stars pretty good toaster, don't love the price   February 15, 2007

We got this toaster for it's large capacity and ease of cleaning. Thankfully, we are satisfied with both those aspects. However, it's a little bit tricky to get things cooked/toasted the way you want them, and it took us some practice to get the hang of all the setting combinations. One tip- try to follow the enclosed instructions closely- even if you've used your old toaster differrently. Overall- good looks and cleans really nicely, gets the job done.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this item   July 23, 2006

I've had this toaster for a year now. If it weren't a gift, sent from out of town, I would have returned it along time ago. It barely toasts at all and now most of the functions do not work at all. The heating element above is dead so it won't broil and it only toasts one side of the bread. I am hunting around for a new toaster oven before this makes it to the trash heap. I hope there is one out there.

I ordered this product from amazon last year. So far I am happy with this product and no problem. Its on my daily usage for baking stuff. I like the feature to switch to broil/oven without flip the baking item. Love the temp control when on broil. I gave it 4 star because I hate the control knob. They should make it more visible so that I know where the knob is. I consider it a good product.

2 out of 5 stars Barely Acceptable   August 31, 2004

This toaster oven is nicely styled on its exterior, but its pleasures end there.

The box loudly trumpets "Stainless Steel" in its ad copy, and it's true that some is used on the appliance. It's on the top of the outer shell- just where it will catch the most kitchen grease and dirt and be hardest to keep clean, with painted metal and plastic everywhere else. Inside, stainless is not used at ALL- the rack is cheap chrome-plate, and the crumb tray and baking pan are that weird silicone-finish "non-stick" over steel. This material cannot be scrubbed, because to do so will breach the silicone coating, allowing the steel underneath to rust. I did this accidentally with a plastic-mesh Teflon scrubber- the coating is obviously very fragile.

The feel of the controls is shaky and vague; the knobs wobble a bit, and their detents are not very positive, so you don't get a satisfying "click" feel that tells you that you've reached a given setting. The timer must be used for all functions; though it has a "stay on" setting, there is no way to avoid its use as there is on other toaster ovens. My guess is that this timer is going to wear out faster than the ones on other units I've had.

Toasting performance is not great; each slice is unevenly browned, and there is a lot of variation between slices in front and rear. Baking performance is okay, but unlike my former Munsey toaster oven, this bulky toaster oven will not take a 9" round Pyrex pie plate- it touches the glass door. I'm concerned that the hot pie plate might create a hot spot that could crack the glass door, so I don't use this unit for some of the minor baking jobs my former unit excelled at.

This unit might be okay for someone who has never had a large toaster oven before, but of all that I've owned or used, this one has been the biggest disappointment. I'm especially taken aback at the squandering of stainless steel as a decorative element outside, when it- or something else that is both rustproof and easy to clean- is so sorely needed inside to contribute to the longevity of the appliance.
