Great product March 15, 2010 Rodolfo R. Vasquez We've had this product for over 3 years and it still works great. I would recommend it to anyone of my family and friends. I use it to cook Digornio pizza perfectly and saves energy rather than using the conventional oven.
ALL IN ONE March 10, 2010 al cooper (USAF) Purshased this for my daughter in USAF. She loves this item. You can cook & keep rolls warm all at the same time, or bake cookies for 2,roast a chicken & cook veggies in upper tray. would or should I say will buy one for me too!
Love this T-Fal Toaster Oven! February 18, 2010 Frog Maven (New England) I am thoroughly enjoying this convection toaster oven -- easy to use, easy to clean and does a wonderful job every time. I've owned other brands and am really glad I purchased this T-Fal.
Adequate, not the best February 8, 2010 jb3 (Chattanooga, TN) I've had this toaster oven a little over two years. The manual it comes with is woefully sparse. Over time, I've learned how to use the oven by trial-and-error.
For example, to use the toaster function two or more times successively, the setting has to be increased each time. I usually use the No. 5 setting for toast which is 4.40 minutes. If I want to toast more bread immediately after, at the same No. 5 setting, the time decreases so I have to increase the setting number to toast at 4.40 minutes. If you forget to reset the number and use the toaster 30 minutes or more after, the higher setting reverts to its original toasting time and your toast is at best overdone, at worst burnt. Each setting's time increases about 20 seconds. Also, the warming tray is a great idea but there's no separate control for it so if you're baking at 350 degrees in the oven, the warming tray's temp isn't much below that. I've had food burn when placed there. These procedures and others--increasing/decreasing the oven temperature and the time for baking and broiling--aren't difficult to figure out but it's annoying to have to. They are not covered in the manual.
The design of the appliance is also problematic. About 6 months ago, the oven door handle fell off. Basically, a screw got loose. But, there is no way to re-attach the handle.
So, now I'm investigating other brands.
nice size and look - uneven toasting - short life January 30, 2010 Dog Mom Love the size, perfect footprint for kitchen countertop. However, cannot fully lift lid unless pull out from under kitchen wall cabinets. Not a big deal - just an FYI. Convenient and easy to use. Toasts somewhat unevenly - no matter where on rack you place toast, nor whether you toast one or 4 slices of bread. Over time (purchased this a 22 months ago) the toast setting had to be increased from 3 to now 7 - thus anticipate the need to replace in near future. Basically - nice looking, toasts adequately, oven works well, but seems to be on its way out in less than 2 years. This is second Avante (first was basic toaster) that doesn't toast evenly and burns out too quickly. Will move on to a different brand in future.
