Amazon.com Review This is one programmable coffeemaker that's actually very easy to program. The touch-pad buttons are intuitive, and the printed directions clear, so there's no excuse for not waking up to the aroma of a freshly brewed pot of java. To prepare for making a pot at any hour, the lid lifts up (hinges in rear), exposing the brew basket: add a flat-bottomed paper filter and the ground coffee of your choice. There's ample pour space for water, the level of which you can view through a convenient window on either side. Simply close the lid and push the On button. Auto/On and the clock buttons set the time for delayed start. The most satisfying thing about the glass carafe is that the wide lip pours without a single drip. In addition, the broad bottom on the carafe affords good surface contact with the stay-hot plate for up to two hours; at that point, the machine shuts off automatically for safety. Those who can't wait for a sip before the entire pot is brewed will appreciate the Sneak-a-Cup feature. While the coffeemaker stands 13 inches tall, it must be pulled forward on a counter to clear most cabinets since the raised lid requires 22 inches. The DCM2500B features a sleek hourglass shape, comes in black or white, and is covered by a one-year warranty. The brew basket and carafe are dishwasher-safe in the top rack. --Ann Bieri

Not a good deal August 22, 2008 Whale bone (Oakridge, OR USA) This coffee maker conked out a few months after I got it. The clock never worked (didn't keep time)over all it's a piece of junk don't buy unless you want to add it to your junk pile.
Black & Decker coffee smart. August 12, 2008 carl smith (Santa Rosa, Ca United States) It is easy to set time & set time to brew! At last a simple brewer.
Not Worth It August 10, 2008 J. Conley (Las Vegas, NV) I am really disappointed in this coffeemaker. Consumer Reports rated this high. I purchased on 4/21/08 and today, 8/10/08, this coffeemaker is in non-working order.
Black and Decker coffee maker August 9, 2008 Jon U (Cincinnati, OH) I really like the coffee maker a lot. The coffee is good and I like the features. The only problem I have it that the lid to the pot is a little difficult to put back on after washing it.
Black & Decker DCM2500 - Good Buy! July 31, 2008 Gort (San Jose, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My wife and I were in the market for a programmable coffee maker, and, after reviewing them on Consumer Reports, we went with their recommended Black & Decker DCM2500B (black) machine. Now, we read the mixed user comments on this machine on Amazon.com as well as other locations, but decided to go ahead with the purchase. We're NOT sorry. This was a good buy and value for a coffee maker that's, for us, as advertisd. No problems with the clock, good coffee, and solid workmanship. Some people mentioned that it's "noisy" while brewing. Certainly it does make some noises, but it's mostly a gently "gurgling" that sounds normal during brewing. Admittedly, we've only had the coffee maker a relatively short amount of time, but we're giving it a thumbs up!
